  1. It would be nice if tool libraries could be mass edited - and if the coolant function was seperate from the tools step and peck
  2. OOps that will give straight walls - I think you can do it by creating one toolpath at each depth then translating it along the axis to get multiple cuts at that depth the distances can be obtained graphically by creating a circle of 1.25 - .315 then drawing parallel lines at the desired depths then trim these lines to the circle and break these lines in lengths equal the amount of cut in the z direaction then translate each depth cut by the cut amount - it appears that each initial cut will need to be offset in the positive and the negative direction from the center of the groove
  3. Never tried it for something like this but On the thread cut parameters page under NC Code format is path called alternating which has the tool cut on the front edge of the thread path and then on the trailing edge of the thread maybe this would work in this case
  4. You can go to machine group and choose design then delete the lathe group and then choose the mill - but this probably is not any quicker
  5. What is the recommended coordinate system for sub spindle work is it good practice to make Z negative into the sub spindle
  6. Maybe Go to side or front view draw a box so that the top is y-.25 and the bottom is y-1 then select inside the box using window or area
  7. Problem with taps seems to be the designation of TPI in English as opposed to pitch in Metric
  8. create arcs at top and bottom do loft cut or use arcs to create a lofted solid and do a boolean remove
  9. Try finish blend with a curve at the top and bottom of the cone - set cuts to along - cuts to spiral
  10. OOPS Right in front of me Thanks for the help
  11. Im using Mcam X2 Mill In the advanced multi axis toolpaths - Using the impeller floor path - the tool is starting in the middle of the impeller - is there a way to force this toolpath to start at the other end of the path Thanks for any help
  12. Could use c-axis toolpath face contour If you dont have a Y axis your flats will be rolled with a slight contour if you use c-axis contour
  13. Go to the miscellaneous tab Switch to advanced interface Pick utility tab Put the amount wanted in the axial shift box
  14. In the group NCI Output box Check "operation type"
  15. If the 2.200 radius is tangent to the face location 1.833 - then the center of the 2.200 arc is 2.200 in the minus x direction from the 1.833 point - if the arc ends at the endpoint of the 11.64 chord then a triangle can be constructed from the endpoint of the arc center using 23.28 degrees - this shold allow caculation of the first Z location
  16. Set c-plane to right in the planes box at the bottom of the screen select c-plane toolplane origin select a point on the geometry select create new from the dialog box and give it a name in the Name View box Also set new origin and make it WCS are choices in this box
  17. create letters above your solid create solids from your letters so that they project down into the original solid boolean remove the bottom of the letters using the original solid - the bottom of the letters solids will now match the contour of your original solid - transform the letters down into your original solid by the depth wanted then boolean reomve the letters from the original
  18. Make sure you have letters as lines - arcs - splines if the letters were created in drafting they must be converted to this geometry to avoid this create letters using create letters not drafting notes
  19. Maybe try peck drill cycle with your bar on the second page where depth is set you can offset the tool in x to get sizes
  20. Scan it - bring it in as bitmap use raster to vector c-hook
  21. If your post is configured for the aggregate set the tool-construction plane to the view that your geometry is in and write your pocket as usual - make sure your aggragate is defined in your machine def
  22. Maybe create flowline curves on the surfaces and program as 3-d curves
  23. Top view use d c-plane use create line multi and just give the coordinates of the next endpoint - ie: 0,0 d2 z-1 d3 z-2 d4 z-3
  24. You can place the geometry anyplace you like but when you give coordinates the pattern part is located so that original part origon is at the new coordinates - when you create the pattern originally make sure the origin is at the point you want to use for the insertion location ie: if you have arcs that you need to locate at centers make sure they are originally created with the centers at 0
