I have the same problem + if I define
stock by picking two corners and set use last
size when I come back to verify next time
the stock goes back to toolpath extents
automatically - defining stock in setup before
verifying works fine
I am running Zone Alarm "internet security suite"
and am not on net hasp - I haven't installed the
last few Microsoft fixes because the last one
I installed locked up my computer and it had
to be rolled back to a previous config to run
could this be the problem?
My system was locking up and crashing
about every 10 15 minutes - I turned off Zone Alarm firewall virus protection - now it seems to
work fine - except for solid verify when
I try to define stock by stock corners - if stock
is predefined it works fine - Question what is
good protection that works without problems with
XP Pro
Thanks for any help
It works sometimes if you make the change
then choose the blue accept button then
highlight one of the folders and choose propagate
but my system will not change the change retract
height for drill cycles no matter what I try
If you look in the NCI file for "900" you will
see the numbers that come from the settings
in job setup - then look in the post for"900"
and you will see the defintions for each of
the spindle moves - problem is as the post
comes standard it does nothing with those numbers
it just goes to the predefined block and outputs "stock transfer" - currently trying to
make this work on a Mazak myself - any hints
or help appreciated
Create points along entity and create geometry
at those points - but probably going to have to
break the geomtry where you want the tabs in
v9 to get retracts there
If you look at the screen in X the top is
the menu that was down the left side
the bottom of the screen is the secondary
menu - so when you first start you can
run it like V9 - then gradually add the
icons as shortcuts - ease into it this way
On the thread cut tab
Under the NC code format
There is a selection for alternating
which writes long hand code and alternates
cutting on the right side and then the left
side of the tool - maybe this would help
Can you create a circle offset by the amount
of eccentricity then use c axis - c axis
contour to do a series of plunge cuts
I have never done it this way but it looks
to backplot and post to give the desired
effect
You can write a contour toolpath turn off
cutter comp filter the toolpath back plot
the toolpath and save it as geometry - then
you will have a contour composed of lines and
arcs
A magazine called Home Shop Machinist used
to publish machining projects complete with
prints - dont know if they are still around
but maybe a good reference
Used to use vises - V blocks - or look for
air operated engine drawings - similar to steam but run with air - also clocks like the wooden
ones in kits which you can make from aluminum
plastic and brass
I have also noticed that I get an invalid
axis combination if I try to look at axis combinations before the machine is saved -
if I go out of machine def and then come back in
it will show combinations - also if you put terminator such as a table then put something
like an A axis with a chuck as terminator on top
of this table make sure the table is unchecked
when looking at axis combinations
