COOLANT ON

  1. 1. DO YOU TURN YOUR COOLANT ON BEFORE OR AFTER A TOOL CHANGE.

    • BEFORE TOOL CHANGE
    • AFTER TOOL CHANGE

After

Because some matsuura will change the tool while it is running thru the spindle coolant.

Or the atc macro will shut it off. You would have to move the coolant to after the m6 in the post

Question should be with or after

I got mixed up before and after😅😴 . After the last M09 (between M09 and M30) I turn on air cooling to signal the end of the program😉

after, unless you have a really slow coolant pump where there is some delay from the time its turned on to the time it starts flooding coolant, might need to start it before the tool change so your not cutting dry for the first couple of seconds if you are dealing with a delay or slow coolant pump. Not a one size fits all question.

After for Mills so the set up guy isn't getting a shower.

Dwell on drill cycles to allow the high pressure coolant to come on (in post for machines that have it).

Mixture in lathes, some of our drill motors require coolant on to spool them up, so before for those.
