If your PC has a flash card reader it is essentially a "removable drive". Same as with a laptop. You insert it into the slot and your PC "sees" the Card. You have to "stop" the card before you remove it from the slot though.

I post a program to my hard drive, then open it in Cimco edit making sure everything correct. I then save it to the card. Sometimes when I get out the machine the file's not on the card. So I go back to my PC and it has an alarm about file not saved to removable disc. Whats happening? Am I pulling the card too quick? Do I need to close Cimco before pulling card?

If you're stopping the card before you pull it out, no.

Yes.

One thing to add to this to get 1 gig of memory is to use a Type 2 PCMCIA adapter with a 1 gig Flash Memory card. You need to also get a USB flash Memeory Reader/Writer. The adapter was $18.00 US and the Reader/Writer was $15.00 US. The Memory can cost $120.00 but we got the 512mb on sale for $50.00 with a $20.00 rebate. We have been able to use this on 2 of our 16i controls and the Robodrill we are still figuring out. So for about $150.00 US you can have 1 gig of memory for you Fanuc Machines. Thanks to James and Roadhog for their help and sharing. Great to know people is what I always say.

Mark, the Fanuc 16/18 A, B, and C series can;t do this. You'll need to buy a Dataserver. A VERY wise investment if you ask me. It's like a few grand for GIGS of space.
