SHUT DOWN

Does anyone out there have trouble saving

a .mc9 file when shading is on? I can save

with alt-a with no trouble with shading on or off

but when I click on file and then save I get

Error message.

Mill9.exe has generated errors and will be closed

by windows. Then it shuts down losing everything

after my last save.

I have similar problems, using 32mb oxygen VX1.

It happens occasionally using ALT-A to run the quicksave.vbs, or my using File-Save.

Most often happens after I've imported a file, either .IGES or .SAT into an existing file that I have toolpath operations already set for. I have recently started converting the .SAT or .IGES files into an MC9 file on their own first, then using the File-Merge command instead of import. I have also set a hotkey to turn shading off completely, and I can say I haven't noticed as much trouble, but I think it's still there.

No one else?

Yes, I had a few days back. When I click the OK button on that dialog box, I got some more errors messages. The files was totally corrupt. I have a SAVEBACKUP.VBS, but unfortunately, it was 3.5 hrs earlier. I only used it after "major" tack were finished. In this case, I had built a model, then used SAVEBACKUP.VBS back up, then started on cutter paths. Bummer . . .

I am using MC 9.1 SP2 (no maintenance yet) on P4 with Windows2000.

Does anyone have a solution???

save as a,b,c,d until done then then save the final file as what it is.

Richard, go to FTP site, folder called VB Script and get SAVEBACKUP.ZIP. I have this install on a hot key F11. It will save the file to mcam9backups Here are the file naming examples that are done automatically:

[*]204047_EL-10.8122004_0730.MC9

[*]204047_EL-10.8122004_1028.MC9

[*]204047_EL-10.8132004_1735.MC9

[*]204047_EL-10.8142004_0828.MC9

204047_EL-10 file name

.8142004 date

_0828.MC9 time

Much better way than using the alphabet. I'll take automatic input over manual input any day.
