(Sounds like a lot, but before you hop the next plane, consider San Diego is the 4th most expensive city to live in the US. Median price of a house is now about $275K (with a back yard the size of a postage stamp), and traffic is bad. A family of 4 has to make 60K a year to live above the poverty line.)

Hell thats on par with us here on GC Aus.

average house is now well over the 330 000 mark(acctually i dont think ud find much under that at all) and thats in a lower priced area.

so u do the math to work out what a person/family needs to earn to pay for that and keep there head above water.80-100k(AUS)?

If any one can offer a youngster here withwith a morgage and about 7 years trade experience and 3+ years mastercam something to trade places for let me know.

Chris, I'm sure you pay a TON in taxes too. My wife and I just looked at when she would have to make to make up for the child care of 3 children, extra gas, extra taxes, extra food, higher car insurance, new clothes, etc.... anyway, we figured she'd have to make around $50-$60k per year. eek.gif
