Mastercam Already Running...?

Every time I start MCX I get the little check box that reads "Mastercam is already running, Continue?"

 

Stupid computer. It is not. Any thoughts?

If you had a crash or lock up I have found that Mastercam will still be running when I open the task manager and the process tab. If you check that you will see two Mastercam.exe's running. You need to shut one of them down (save first).

Silly me. I am a little more computer savy then that. Didn't even occur to me to check that (although I haven't had a lockup....).

You know I've had that happen 3X's this morning alone.

 

No crashes, I have shut X down. On the next restart I get "X is already running" I have to go into the task manager and shut it down manually.

 

Is this happening across the board to alot of others also?

happens to me alot. if I'm already running X and try to start solidworks I'll lock up. sometimes when I do it the other way around (shut down X first) I'll get what you guys are seeing.

I've seen it to. Haven't been able to reliably reproduce.

I am averaging 2 X crashes a day. Even without crashing the mastercam.exe is staying up in the background after exiting. I am getting a ram upgrade soon so I hope this fixes it.

Not even once here.

I've NOT had even one crash with MCX since it was released.

Yes this is what happens to me alot in X. We are on a network hasp and when 9 is up and I have to bring up X as well, mastercam does not like to have them both up so X will go down and then on relaunch I get that message. Ill shut down 9 too before starting x again.

More often than not, the Mastercam.exe process fails to stop for me. I knew I was forgetting something. Thanks for reminding me.

 

I need to report that.

With 4 of us sharing 2 seats of MC, that message always pops up. It's not uncommon to have 3+ sessions open per seat.

 

Maybe it's happened here and I didn't realize it.

I get that message about 10% of the time when I start X. Seems random, can't find a common link to the problem.

Im with you Thad,, Im a one man show running 2 if not 3 machines majority of the time so I always have at least 2 if not 3 seats on MC running..

I just started noticing it today on my Dell M70, Have SP1 update 3 and MR1 B2 installed

I have never encountered this problem. I have had X crash on me but never my PC. Maybe that is what you meant? Anyhow, I wonder what is different that I do not have this error. Is it a NetHasp only issue?

I am not a beta tester, I'm running SP1 patch 3

 

This has been happening that I have noticed since at least SP1.

 

With mine I do not even have to crash MCX, as I stated above I shut X down normally and on 3 seperate occasions the other day it did not shut down properly. When I restarted MCX I got the message like I was running another session, which I was not and had to go into the task manager to stop the process.

 

There has been no apparent rhyme or reason to it that I have been able to ascertain.

Since X has been released, I can count on 1 hand with fingers to spare how many times it has crashed. It's just that the "mastercam.exe" process fails to stop or end.
