Mastercam Design LT Ver X

Just wondering, does anyone know if in the future Mastercam Design LT Ver X will have the same functionality as Mastercam 9 draft had?

For example in 9, I could shade the wire frame and in Mastercam Design LT Ver X I can not.

Ok, I understand now why the demo X MR1 comes with design LT ver. X.

Nope,

In Mastercam Design LT go to SCEEN then SHADE SETTING.

When I select it an error pops up.

"The requested function can not be run from Mastercam X design LT"

Sorry I did mean surfaces, and it is SCREEN not SCEEN.

It was released March 1st. We bought it when we bought X and it was drop shipped here from CNC software on March 17th.

Sorry about that, but it is indeed a problem with the initial release of Design LT. It will not allow you to shade surfaces.

This will be corrected in the next release of Design LT.

Our shop supervisor was just about ready to order Design LT for our Inspection room. Shading surfaces is very important for visualizing complex models. If we buy it now will we receive the corrected update when it is released? Will there even be updates available for Design LT? Will the next version be after X2 is released? Are there any other known problems we should know about?

Full blown Design with Solids is very reasonably priced and you can put it on maintenance.

That would give Inspection the same fuctionality as Engineering.

I think Design LT is kind of like Demo.. the

I was told that Design LT was to have the same functionality as draft was in previous versions. Some of us can not afford to buy seats of Mastercam X and do all of our work in draft, then post code in Mastercam X using the Hasp.

PS: We only have one Hasp which the engineering dept. shares.

I JUST LOADED LT TODAY AND WE ARE IN THE SAME BOAT, SMALL SHOP TIGHT BUDGET AND USING DRAFT AS A

VISUAL AND SHADING IS A MUST.

I am ordering my copy today!

I just installed the copy of Design LT MR2 we received last week. Looking through the ReadMe file, it says that the Introducing Mastercam X video and the Design LT Reference Guide are part of the documentation.

 

I can not find these two files in my install. Did Mastercam run out of room on the CD? I know that I can get by with out these files, but the customer that only has Design LT will really miss them.

They have already started shipping the corrected Design LT with the shading corrected but it had a different glitch that had to be fixed and they are now shipping the 3rd rev. to Design LT. If you buy it now and they discover a major problem it will be corrected.

The MR2 CD was for the shading fix, now I should expect a third CD.

i did not recieve any fixes for the lt version is this something the reseller is required to give you and i should call them on it
