Ok Tons of threads about what people hate about X.... So what do you like about x......?

What I like about X

 

Gradient graphics screen

X CAD interface (once I learned how to use it)

X trimming especially hotkey "D"

X WCS is much easier to use

X backplot ( lathe still needs work)

X Verify ( with multiaxis true solid option)

no more "watertight STL" errors

X mill/turn is way more user friendly than V9

X tool library managment is way better than V9

X right click mouse button

X Machine/Toolpath Groups (multiple machines and OPs in the same file)

X Red Arrow of Doom (yes I really like it

it has been tamed and behaves itself in MR2)

X Spaceball/Space Pilot interface rocks!!

(way way way better than V9)

MR1 High Speed tool paths

MR2 %^$&*$# is freakin' awesome

( sorry, I can't tell you)

Ditto.

 

gcode really did cover most of it.

Throw in the fact I can program faster without hotkeys and that about covers it.

Edit common parameters actualy works in X.

In V9 it was a dangerous crap shoot.

I have been using Mastercam X from day one, actually before day one. And from my personal experience and following this Forum I feel that most of the users that say they don’t like X, either have hardware incompatibilities or they have not taken the time to educate themselves with the new software. The people you hear saying that they love using X have probably studied all of the new documentation and put in enough seat time to know what this version can really do. There are just too many good points about X to put in one list. All I know is the other day I thought it would be easier to use V9 to alter an old program and I left it thinking, “How did we ever get by for so long with this old interface?”

i like the new interface and autocursor.i didn't

use autocursor in 9.1. it was to difficult to look at the menu bar all the tike to see if i was selecting the right geometry.trim/divide is super.

Today is my 1st full day jumping into X. Had the transition class Thursday with Marc Lindsey and I have to say I'm diggin it so far (good class BTW Marc ). Have already customized MC the way I have always wanted too. Have to keep up with technology or it will pass you by...

the divide is so much more than it used to be I use it all the time. the wcs and the levels managers are alot easier to use. I like the zoom in and out with the mouse scroll, it zooms in relative to cursor position.

if you have to go back to v9 its like stepping back in time you feel almost lost and very slow.
