There really isn't much of a difference between XP home and Pro, other than some networking advantages. They are basically the same software. They both have the same driver.cab file. For work I would definately go with Pro.

Neither. Get into the sata drives @ 10,000 rpm, at least 2 gb of ram, 3 ghz processor or above. 2mb of L2 cache, Quadro video.
