I know it's a dead horse, but. I have a simple hemispherical mold cavity. Solid primitive block with a primitive sphere booleaned out of the top.

Surface Finish Flowline, with .00015 total tol. at 2:1. Scallop Height .0015

It takes 1.5 hrs to regen the toolpath! banghead.gif the run time is only 30 min.

Windoze XP SP2

Mem allocations are:

20,000

64,000

500

256,000

256,000

Is this normal for the tight tol. or is there a known conflict with one of the windows updates I.S. keeps force feeding us on a weekly basis?

Please help.

Thanks,

Keith

I don't understand why you have your scallop heigth and your checking to 1 1/2 tenths. That is your problem right there, with a half ball a .005 step over will giv you as good a finish as you would need. also the checking does not need to be any less than .025 an such a consitant surface. That my friend is what's taking so long

He has a scallop height of .00015 not a stepover. if he had a scallop height of .005 it would look like crap, i would think thet that scallop height he is using would probally work out to be between .003-.005 stepover.
