Click on SETTINGS then click CONFIGURATION. On the bottom of that window is a drop down that says "DEFAULT (English)(Startup), if you click the arrow nest to it is gives you the Metric Option. If your part is open, then it will, once you click on the option you want, prompt you to change and scale it to the desired option, click yes, and woohoo, you are there!

Quite coincedentally, after reading this thread yesterday morning, I had a similar occurance yesterday afternoon. A part I imported from another program was accidentally created using metric units. Dimensionally speaking, Id've been lucky to get this part into the building, much less get it properly located in the forging die I was working on at the time. Thanks to Ron's scaling factor of .03937, I didn't lose a step in getting the job done.

Once again, This Forum comes through.

Thanx again to all who make it what it is!

Either way works pretty good for me.

If you have a huge metric distance to scale, you might want to scale it with a factor of 1/25.4 to keep the round off error as close as possible.

I always used .03936 as to err on the small side.

Sometimes scaling can be a problem on solids if someone blanks some of thechains used to make the solid.

Those need to be scaled up too or your solid will not regen.

I think that is where if you just change from inches to mm in the config, MC will scale all the entities and you wioll not have to go through the blank layer and try to pick out the solid chains.
