Is speed step enabled in the bios? That will declock and decrease the multiplier when idling. Then try to ramp it back up when needed. That may be why its erratic.

The second time you run it are you going back in the toolpaths and changing them to .0001 again to make them dirty?

I think this will be a useful tool for those looking at purchasing a new workstation. Also, if you have a pc that is older please test this also, it will give an idea to others with similar configurations on how much time can be saved by getting a new pc (may help with justification for new pc?).

murray If you haven't regened the file at .001" you may have regen files from a prior regen at .0001" that may affect your next regen in a positive manner.

I open the file, change all to .0001 and regen. Only do it once. I close it and re-open it to do it again. Looks like if I do what you are saying, I will have a shorter regen time

Actually, murray beat me. I wasn't surprised. But it's ok. I still own the first sub 30 sec benchmark in Mastercam history, and it was done on a mac :snickers:
