Stupid question , please help

Is it posible to loop edge in solid in X2?

Trying to work from the solid ,not using wireframe and can't find how to loop edges.

When you select loop and pick a face it will chain all the

edges in the plane the solid is in.

Just select the solid at the top right of the chaining

parameters box.

I my situation ,i have thru pocket which has complicated profile with chamfers on top and bottom, so I can’t pick up particular face .

On this situation can i loop chain or no?

Can you make edge curves and xform project to get a 2d chain?

Correct me if I've got this wrong. Your trying to create a profile of your solid pocket not including some of the 3D details (chamfers, ext.). If soo, you can create/curve/create curve slice.

I know how to program this pocket .I can use wire frame or slice it etc.

What I really want to try –program straight from solid (just experimenting).

For some reason i can't upload this file on ftp.

After druging file to ftp window ,it trying to save on "my dokuments".

Once you select the solid option as described above, you will have an additional dialog. In the next dialog you have an option to select edge and loop. Once done, pick an edge of the solid and it should loop. A lot of the time it will loop a face instead of tracking around the pocket. You should see an option to "Pick Other Edge". Pick it and it will loop on the other conincident edge .

Then change face to the required face, then check chaining direction.

It will only let you chain around one face, so if the bottom of the pocket is not flat then this will not work, and you will have to create curve from solid.

If it is not looping around what you expect, try the other face option.

I think what MIG is try to say is the lack of capability using solid selection to drive the chain for the thru pocket that has Chamfers at both sides (ajoining topo face to pocket and pocket to bottom face). [/img]
