which is the best place to download the latest driver, from nvidia or solidworks?

 

i've seen both mentioned, and for all those running this card on a win7 64 bit system, what version are you running?

I'm using Nvidia which is newer. I have zero problem except with new highspeed toolpathes GUI. Sometimes windows are disappearing but I suppose it's Nview related (2 screens)... and this is with X3MU1 (which isn't officially supported with Win7-64bits)... stuck with that (and i'd so like new optitoolpathes =

it used to be you went to the Nvidia site entered the information about your card and then choose "partner certified drivers" and then choose solidworks, and then choose the latest driver that matches your operating system. does this hold true? the reason i ask is because the recommended drivers from nvidia and solidworks are different versions.

thanks cjep, that's what i did and i also went to nvidia "partner certified drivers" and i let nvidia do the GPU automatic reader and all three are different versions, so which is the best / recommended? i guess i'll choose one and see how it works, thanks.

Since Win7 came out, I've been running the latest greatest from the NVIDIA download page.

I keep them current, but I don't realy see any difference in the last couple of releases.

Typically those numbers reference a build or release date, version number,....

 

My computer is less than a week old for me, it is a Dell precision M6600 running a NVidia Quadro 3000M,.... the driver is 8.17.12.7605

The only thing I've done with my computer is load software,.. until I see some glaring graphics issues I'll keep running the driver that came with it

 

Addendum: if you're going to update the driver, the 8.17.12.7554 would be the one you want, it's newer than the one you are currently running.

Replacing the Dell drivers is the FIRST thing I do with a new Dell cause they've always given me trouble.

It's been 2 years since I had a new Dell to play with .. maybe they have corrected that problem ???

It's been a long time since I had video driver trouble..

the Win7 rollout was pretty sketchy for about 6 months, but NVIDA has got all that worked out now.

I'm currently running version 305.93 (8/28/12) with no issues ..

Gcode, that's where I get hung up. Under "download type" do I use Quadro performance, Quadro partner, or ??? We don't have Autocad or Solid Works or anything else. Just Mastercam.
