NEW EUROPEAN PEDESTRIAN-SAFETY LAW REQUIRES CHANGE .... Automakers selling vehicles in the European Union will be required to change the design of car fronts under a pedestrian-safety law approved Monday by EU governments. The law requires automakers to establish collision tests and engineering changes to minimize injuries to pedestrians. Automakers have until October 2005 to comply.

Well they have a standard for Machine builders in England that the machine can not be accesable by a drunk person to climb over the top when it is running and get inside.

Also by 2005 More Humane Lawn mowers

All Lawn mowers imported to Europe

Will have to have a Two blade system

One Blade Stuns the grass with a blunt edge

Once "Stunned", the second blade will Humanely

cut the grass.

Presumably the two blade system will have the cutting blade somewhat shorter than the stunning blade to insure that the stunning blade always hits first. I wonder how many millions will be spent to determine the blade setback to cover all reasonable mowing speeds......

To create something "Idiot Proof" you will have to get ride of all of the Idiots, Because someone is always dumber then they look. Where I work they want us to make everything fool proof so I told them to stop hiring fools. It didn't go over real big.

That's one of my big gripes. I Hate them drunk drivers... There is no excuse to be on the road drunk.
