you need taper, a angle cutter will be out of the cut in 1 rev, bottom to top ,going from the top dosn't matter it wont be in full cut until it pulls out at the bottom,. that is all there is to it you can dream all you want .0017 dosn't matter in low pressure but it is not right

Guys I remember 10 years ago coming on this forum and making a complete arse out of myself. I knew I had done everything I could to make this toolpath I was trying and it was not working. I would not listen and was pissed my abilities were being called into question. After I ate my humble pie and listened to what was being said I got my problem fixed. We all have been there doing our best being the only one most times who cares to learn and better ourselves. I think Rick has figured out what the problem was and is headed in the right direction. We all stick our foots in our mouths and he apologized to me and that is good enough for me. :)

just curious what brand tooling are you using that has 13 teeth or are u counting every tooth on the cutter if so that sounds like a low amount

I'm counting every tooth on one flute. It will vary with flute length and pitch, and tells Mastercam if the tool can make the thread in a single 360º helix or if it needs multiple depth cuts. I have one threadmill that has 3 teeth per flute, which means it has to move through every third revolution of the thread.
