Hello TheMachinist,

   Is there away I can make the WCS COMMENT automatically output to the MANUAL ENTRY when I make SETUP SHEET?

Is that even being output through the XML to be captured?

Thank you for all the effort you have put in to this active report sheet..  My tool list is not pulling in the feedrate.  Mcamx-8, we are running metric here. When I preview the list feedrate comes in as inch per minute.

But brings absolutely nothing in the finished report. Only feedrate, all other data comes in super--

The preview report is generated using a sample XML file generated from a program that used inches. Can you look in your shared mcamx8/common/reports/xml and send me the newest .xml file? There is a chance that the field is named differently in X9, which is the version I created the sheet for. In that case I will make an X8 version and post instructions for downloading it

Here is the code to output it. If you check out the help there is a XML full tag glossary.

 

"WCS-PLANE-COMMENT"            Work coordinate system plane comment.

    Thank you for your respond, and where do I put the "WCS-PLANE-COMMENT"?  I took screenshot of how I did it, I did not get it work. If you have time, please let me know what I've done wrong.  Thank you.

This is tricky because the WCS-PLANE-COMMENT is attached to the Operation rather than the offset. The Offset seems to contain information about the Operations though so we may able to use some code to fanagle it into the offset list.

I'm still trying to learn this active reports stuff in my spare time but I don't have much of that lately. I'm not in a rush though because without being able to output it to a format that can be edited later It isn't very useful to me.

There may be a "right now" workaround for this, but I don't know when I will be able to get to testing it. Here is the gist for anyone who is capable and motivated:

 

Since at least AR version 6 there seems to be classes for converting the reports to Excel, HTML, RTF, and Plain Text. The term they use is "Export Filters". We should be able to use these classes in the Script tab, but there may be some limitations. The documentation sucks so it will be trial and error.

 

Since there is no definite timeline to these features in MasterCAM yet it's something I'm open to working on. It's too bad CNC software doesn't share their roadmap like my game Insurgency does.

Hello, I logged in today because I got a message about this on Github. It looks like this broke in the next release due to mastercam changing the library they use to manipulate active reports. If there is anyone who can take this project over it would be helpful. I reached out to one user in my inbox who has fixed it before. Unfortunately, I switched to Fusion when I started my shop and no longer has access to the software I need to fix this report. I could help diagnose any errors by reading message & code, but I do not have access to the software. Thanks
