  1. happy birthday and thanks for all of the help guys.
  2. if you go to the website it should tell the release date. but if you are still on v9 it makes me think that you are not on maintenance. If that's the case you won't be able to download "maintenance release 0304"
  3. just define you're table as a solid and boolean add them together. I do that a lot.
  4. quote: What are these settings that I would have to turn off to improve performance? solitaire mastercam forum: political threads mastercam forum: religous threads thad's sticky these should increase performance by at least 50%.
  5. HYPNOTIST IN THE SENIOR CENTER It was entertainment night at the senior center and the Amazing Claude was topping the bill. People came from miles around to see the famed hypnotist do his stuff. As Claude went to the front of the meeting room, he announced, "Unlike most hypnotists who invite two or three people up here to be put into a trance, I intend to hypnotize each and every member of the audience." The excitement was almost electric as Claude withdrew a beautiful antique pocket watch from his coat. "I want you each to keep your eye on this antique watch. It's a very special watch. It's been in my family for six generations." He began to swing the watch gently back and forth while quietly chanting, Watch the watch, watch the watch, watch the watch..." The crowd became mesmerized as the watch swayed back and forth, light gleaming off its polished surface. Hundreds of pairs of eyes followed the swaying watch, until, suddenly, it slipped from the hypnotist's fingers and fell to the floor, breaking into a hundred pieces. .........................."sh*t!" said the Hypnotist... It took three days to clean up the senior center

    X2 MR1

    I think you're seeing Xmr2 not X2mr1 I type too slow!
  7. quote: I lost a great job because MC blows at them. lost a job over canned cycles???? can you type?
  8. quote: Maybe if I had moved around I would see things differently. that might be the best thing you can do for yourself. I can't even begin to tell you how much better my experience level is because I did. The place where I served my apprecticeship at had me and many other's convinced that they were the premier shop in the area and that the way the were building things was the only way to do it. It was an eye opening experience after I moved around. And honestly some of the worst places that I worked at taught me as much as some the best places. Plus it takes away a lot of daily anxiety when you know that there is always another shop. And you've made the transition before and it's really no big deal. A boss can hold that over some people who aren't used to moving around but they can't hold that over me. sounds like they already have you convinced that you can't make the kind of money and benefits anywhere else that you're making now. That's not true. jm2c
  9. or drill with an OTM Holeshot drill at about 10 ipm it will be about .010-.015 undersize then finish with an endmill.
  10. Rick, I was able to window around all the holes. Is that what you wanted?
  11. I have come across that before. I wish they would fix it too. But if you use your holder gouge protection, that will protect you till they do.
  12. did it go to deep because of a vertical "arc on" or did it did it go to deep cutting on a surface?
  13. Wow! does it punch it's own tapes or do you need a hammer and punch?
  14. quote: but when i run a Mastercam session im not sure where to look to see if is installed in the upper left corner of your screen it should say "Mastercam Mill X SP1" hth
  15. ohhhhh man do I feeeell dumb. thanks guys
  16. I just tried my feedmill in the helical bore toolpath and found that it stays up the radius of the cutter. ie. helix bore depth= z-1.75 corner radius on the cutter .118 actual depth of the program was z-1.632 if anything I would have thought it would go deeper by the corner radius but I prefer that it just let my choose the depth. Has anyone else seen this?
  17. edit your post. there is a question whether to enable canned cycle or not. search for this: Enable Canned Drill Cycle Switches
  18. you have to buy a stand alone version of Cimco. it's a pretty reasonable price though. copying software is bad
  19. Tony, I did mess with that but it didn't seem to affect the toolholder. thanks for the replies guys. I'm still looking though.
  20. I'm not quite sure why a bigger step down would work better than a smaller one but have you looked at the setting on the "transitions page" that says, skip pockets smaller than... Maybe that setting is right on the edge of what your cutting.
  21. So the holder definitions in the HighSpeed paths are no good?
