  1. Hi Code_breaker Thanks for your help it seemed like the answer to my prayers. I am machining a male thread modified Butress 2.5" x 1/8 pitch on quartz, it machines ok but at the end even though i have a start and finish Point it goes straight back to the start of the Helix direct from the end cutting through the thread. (I am cutting top to bottom) I have the points at the correct depth but only seems to go to the points at the top of helix depth. any help will be very much appreciatedas I have been at this for hours now with no results. JimP

Thanks in advance JimP

  14. Has anyone used Ultrasonic Drilling. We need to drill a hole Ø0.03" X 0.3 deep in Quartz using a diamond drill, as you might guess we are having problems when we try using our CNC mills. We can drill Ø0.08" holes ok. Because we need thro cooling its not easy to get the correcr RPM. If any one out there has got a Ultrasonic attachment on there machine can you let me know how it works? 18. Iam using Ver 9 and I think the control is either 810 or 840D the machine is 2 to 3 years old and is 3 axis. I have a Technical support contract with my local Mastercam dealer and who could not be more helpfull,If I had to ask for there assistence in any matter concerning Mastercam or computers, but as I am just wishing to try out one program for my friend I thought I could ask one of my Mastercam friends on the forum for a free copy if they had one available. In the past I have supplied a couple of forum users with copies of posts and will be happy if to help others in the future . I thought the reason behind this forum is to bring together Mastercam users(the Number one Cam system)and share our experience with each other when requested or .

  21. Keep Your Tools I had a programer working for me in the design office for over a year, he had left his tools on the shop floor. Two weeks after he moved them in to the office, things were getting quite and he had to go back to the CNC's for a while. Was he embaresed when he had to take the tools back to the shop floor. So you can never tell when you might need them. I like the odd shifty through my old tool box which I keep in the garage the smell of the tols brings back old memories.
