  1. Correct. Demo-HLE is no longer a separate install and separate program. You now need a software license programmed for the DemoHLE user type when running Mastercam. And we are still fine-tuning that license generation process.
  2. I think there was a Chain-Partial option in chaining in X8... pick the two lines as the 1st and last ...
  3. You've got a third line that overlaps with one of the lines, so after you pick one, chaining doesn't know which way to go .. it's a 'branch point'. When it tells you its reached a branch point, pick the second line and it'll make one chain.
  4. That's a good question and I don't know the answer to it. Again, QC or Tech Support could have a look.
  5. "...it cannot be reproduced..." Send QC a file and some steps to reproduce it and they'll give it a shot. It might toolpath-type or selection-type specific - which does make it hard to reproduce without more information.
  6. Try making this value smaller. This controls the accuracy of the trimmed surface boundaries when creating a surface from a solid face.
  7. Thee Byte, "....is there a similar function for joining non-colinear shapes like a triangle using the same selection method?.." And joining them into a polyline-like entity? Or a spline with sharp corners?
  8. Simple ... you can use "Join Entities" on the Wireframe Ribbon to convert all the split circles into full circles.
  9. Better yet ... use the Mastercam Advanced Config executable. Run it as Administrator and click on Components in the left-side pane and browse to the .DLL in the right-side pane. Then right-click on that .DLL and choose 'Register Component". And note that this may or may not fix your issue with opening a SolidWorks file into Mastercam. Usually its the version of the SolidWorks file and the version of Mastercam you're running that might prevent it. For instance - a SW 2021 file can only be imported into MC 2021 Update 3 (or later). Usually only uninstalling and re-installing some version of either MC and/or SW would cause the SWDocumentMgr.DLL to require re-registration. If you send me a SolidWorks file that is failing to come into Mastercam I can help diagnose the problem.
  10. Thanks for confirming! And note that that option should probably only be used when needed.
  11. I've got one thing for you to try ... Before attempting to import the STEP file as a tool, go to Configuration/Converters and turn on "Use solid stitching to import Solids" under "Solids". That worked for me. I wasn't sure whether those options came in to play when importing a STEP file as a Tool, but they seem to.
  12. I took a look and the tool is oriented properly. I'm wondering if this is a Mastercam version issue. In some recent release the Tool Team forced "healing" to happen when importing the STEP tool so there may be cases where it'll come in on one users computer and not another. I did get a better result after opening the STEP file into 2022 Beta - telling it to stich the faces into a body in the Import 'Options' page. Then I saved that as a new STEP file.
  13. cyount12, If you can post a SW file - or better yet ... email it to me at [email protected] - I can quickly take a look at why you might be having trouble with it. Pete
  14. That message can also occur if there are no any solids in the SolidWorks file. Can you attach the file?
  15. You might find that by searching through this forum, but here's a quick summary involving the Mastercam KnowledgeBase item that covers this: If you have access to the Mastercam online KnowledgeBase, go to this item: https://kb.mastercam.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50231.aspx The instructions are a little old and refer to an older version of MC, but if you point to C:\Program Files\Mastercam 2020\Mastercam\Common\SWorksData when inside the Advanced Config program that might do it. You will need admin privileges.
  16. Mickey reached out to me via a separate message and we eventually confirmed that, in his case, the SWDocumentMgr.DLL did indeed need to be registered. This .DLL Is installed by both MC and SW. Depending on what versions of them got installed/uninstalled/repaired most recently, an earlier version of SWDocumentMgr.DLL can end up being registered ... or it can even become un-registered.
  17. I've seen something similar over the past year and it was due to an issue with Groups. Some huge number of groups were somehow being created. Maybe that's it?
  18. Some older versions of Mastercam do not support commas as decimal place delimiters.
  19. OK - thanks. Let me know if you see trouble when you get to MC2021 or MC2022. Meanwhile ... Mcam Nut - I'm extending the same offer to you. Send me your Hasp serial number too. Pete
  20. BBPrecise, Send me an email at [email protected] and we'll try to get rid of that yellow warning message. There are other reasons to get that message to show up - but if its because of the HASP emulator it's usually easily fixable. Pete
  21. "...at some point in time a boot leg copy of Mastercam or a hasp emulator was installed on that machine..." My opinion exactly. Note that the 'genuine' warning only started appearing in MC2021 which is why you didn't see it before. Meanwhile ... +1 to both GCode and JParis ... even though re-formatting isn't the only fix. Your reseller should be able to help, or they could get our Tech Support to help you.
  22. C:\Program Files\Mastercam 2021\Mastercam\documentation\en-US\ReadMe.pdf Or, from inside Mastercam, File/Help/ReadMe
  23. If you have one that works in the MC folder, and the IP address for the server hasn't changed, I would definitely recommend simply copying that one to the MCforSW folder.
  24. Wargo, Is the NetHasp.INI in the MCforSW folder the exact same as the one in the MC folder?
  25. it will ask you semi-randomly during the first 10-15 times you launch. If it never goes away, then there's a permissions/adminuser/registry type issue that could potentially be sorted out by contacting [email protected].
