  1. While trying to save my default parameters in the operations manager I keep getting this error "Exporting entities to file that contains nci is not allowed" This is only on one computer. It doesn't happen on another computer with the same settings (as far as I can tell). Any help will be much appreciated.
  2. Sandybar, I have seperate libraries for dif materials. It's the easiest way to make sure you get the speeds and feeds that you want for a specific material. This is my personal preference. I also do it for dif machines that don't have the same spindle capabilities.
  3. Was using Hangsterfers for years. Now we use Q-Cut 250c. Everything is better with this coolant so far. Machines just spray clean. No scrubbing as everything just washes down. Parts blow off clean and finishes are better. Nobody here has had any reaction to it either. No skin irritations. And we were having probs with that before. Been just adding to mix for 6 months and no bacteria here.
  4. Thanks John. I'm so busy now I forgot to look outside the box and change the geometry. Haven't been at the computer programming in over 2 weeks. (promotion ) Last shop foreman had things so screwed up you didn't know where anything was except for the CNC dept. Don't have the title yet but I am in charge of all aspects of shop now. Should have title soon.
  5. I was trying to use control comp and optimize. It would start in the corner for finishing pass and gouge the wall going in and coming off. It wouldn't start in the middle of that leg with those parameters set.
  6. It is under MCX2_Files/pocketing leadin leadout. I have already changed the comp to computer. Try it with "control" comp and "optimize" checked on and you will see what I mean. You will have to change the amount of lead-in/lead-out to at least .300 or it will also gouge part with initial plunge.
  7. Midwest and John, I'll try. I need to find out how first. I'll do a search and hope to have it up in a little while.
  8. Well it has something to do with the "optimize cutter comp in control". It works good without it checked but starts in the corner and gouges part with it. Go figure. Like I said, I have never seen this happen before.
  9. I just tried on another part and it works fine. I haven't a clue as to why it won't work on this part. Chain is good also.
  10. I would but don't know how. I know you guys have shown how before but I have never got around to trying it. About the prob, I also made sure that it wasn't a polyline. It is an arc. But I've done dozens, if not hundreds of these types of pockets before with no prob.
  11. Seems like you'll spend more time and money on this ROI than in making the fixture in the first place.
  12. I've even tried rechaining the pocket from a dif start point to no avail
  13. no it's not. Toolman, in the pocketing op there isn't an option for midpoint. It does it automatically. At least it's supposed too.
  14. There is no box for that feature. The pocketing op is supposed to do it automatically. I have never had this happen before and I've been using MC for 5+ years.
  15. All of a sudden my pocketing operation will not start its finishing pass at the midpoint of a chain. It is starting at the end and gouging the part. Anyone else have this happen? And how can I fix it?
  16. If you have the solids module, you may want to get the solids tutorial book also. We've had both for years and I'm just now getting around to creating solids with MC. The tutorial for X was an ok book if you ask me. It makes you draw the wireframe needed to make the solid in alot of dif ways. It also showed me some stuff in wire that I was unaware of or used so infrequently that I had forgot. Like holding the shift key and picking a full chain. It definitely takes you thru the basics.
  17. You should be able to call the manufacturer and tell them the model # and they will give you the correct codes. I've had to do this before with our Kitamuras.
  18. Damjan333, Our post is supposed to be set up to read the cycle 1 and take it to the ref. plane. Which it does but only on the first occassion (every time), and maybe once more after that, but for the most part, after ther first occassion, it doesn't bring it to ref position. I never had "this" prob in the past that I am aware of. At least the operators haven't said anything to me. I was wondering if there wasn't a calculation in the post that was causing it to not post correctly.
  19. yea, that's my question. Does FBM come with X3? Or do you have to pay for it as an add-on?
  20. this is what my post shows prdrlout #R drill position if cuttype = one, refht_a = refht$ + (rotdia$ / two) else, refht_a = refht$* -1 refht_i = refht$ - initht$ if cuttype = three, refht_a = w$ if absinc$ = zero, refht_a, !refht_i else, refht_i, !refht_a
  21. I'm having probs with my heidenhein post posting drilling cycles. The machine won't accept a g98 or g99 so I have to use "use clearance only at the start and end of operation" and then my post is set to have it rapid to the retract height and then have the drilling cycle. My prob is that after the first drilling operation, it won't rapid to the next retract position in the next operation. It stays at the clearance plane. Any thoughts on what I need to look for in my post as to why it will do it once but then not repeat it? Any help is much appreciated.
  22. Thanks Steve. I was just looking at that now. So I can copy that file and edit it to what my characters are. Then save it in my folder for my font. And also save the characters under the ascii file name and it should work?
