  1. I had to go to my reseller to customize my post for the aggregate head to output in the right axis. If i'm not mistaken the mpmaster was close but the code was swapped in the axis. It may have been a diferent post. Possibly 4th axis. And they did it for free!
  2. make sure you try handshake with software only, if that doesn't work try hardware only, and if that doesn't work try software/hardware both on.
  3. I prefer the step format myself.
  4. Would it not be possible to draw the first part and program it. Then rename the file to the next name and change the geo to fit the next part. You could do this with analize if its one dim. or stretch if its more and then regen the new geo. If you don't delete anything you shouldn't loose your chain. and then repost new part. Just a thought.
  5. program your first part finished. Start your second part and then "import" your ops from the previous job. you will then just need to apply your new geometry to the ops (rechain). If you have your tool page defaults correctly all of the tools will stay the same numbers with same offsets.
  6. You could also select "force tool change" at the op's you want it to stop at and use your op stop (m01).
  7. If you use transform and you know how far to move it , transform your result and tell it how far to go. If it is from the original, transform group instead. Your original is the group and result is of course the result of the transform. You don't have to give first position just fill in dialog box the distance and woolah.
  8. I have to use the overlap because at higher feedrates the machine will slur and leave a "nipple". So I either have to slow down the feedrate or do an overlap. The overlap is better.
  9. Not a reseller, but I would rather run something that is proven than something that is in its infancy as is vista. We are going to wait at least 2 years before upgrading to vista because of the hog it is to your computer. I am no expert in computers at all. I only know enough to get me in trouble. But I am no idiot and unless you have some major bucks for a top end computer, I understand its alot of headaches. But with main topic. Why doesn't mastercam support a mac. I know its dif programming language, But from what I understand it is a far superior product and wouldn't you want to use the best?
  10. Why wouldn't they support a mac? It's my understanding that it is a much stabler OS than windows vista and isn't a system hog. And that's the only reason they put out vista. To compete against the mac.
  11. It may be in your post. I have my post so that no matter what number is in offset it will always post d offset +30 from tool length offset for that tool.
  12. There should be a setting in your op to make full pass at final depth.
  13. used straight oil doing molds for 11 years. We had 4 machines and "never" had a fire. Didn't even have a flair up. Oil is the way to go for steel.
  14. MDI mode and PWE = 1 It will give you an alarm but it is just to let you know that your parameter editting has been enabled. After changing parameter, go back and change the PWE back to 0. You then may have to restart machine.
  15. These are the windows that allow equations in them. You can change the color of them, if you want. Go into your settings, configure, colors, calculable field color.
  16. Maybe check MSC. We found some smaller ones through them.
  17. To get left hand - reverse toolpath chain and use opposite offset direction.(offset left to offset right)
  18. Remember that along with maintenance, you get free help from your reseller for things like posts and programming probs. That is if it isn't answered here first. But if you do have a hard time with posts, the basic ones are free and they (at least mine does) will edit the posts to output as you need fit. I know that sometimes getting the reseller to help takes a while, but in the long run is worth it. I've had the experience in the past that if we had a hard time with a certain program operation. Our reseller would program the part for us to show us how to use that operation. Great to have a real example to see how a certain toolpath was made.
  19. "Just drag the offending toolbar down into the main screen and reshape the box so that all the icons are running left to right. Now put the toolbar back where it was." As submitted by daved works great.
  20. I have group and result on my mouse right click. very handy.
  21. No you can't see code on an OM control. We split the program at our M00's or by tool to prove pgm. We then post out all op's into one program to dnc. This way you can still see the code to prove out. If any changes need to be made it is done in MC and re-posted. This way we make sure that the programs are identical.
  22. Is there an overlapping entity? If there is your chain may have picked up the spline instead.
  23. I just did some of this and I used circlemill op. I was not able to use depth of cut though. I used a seperate op for each z depth.
  24. ------------------------------------------------- Is there a way to move one groups ops to another group and not leave the group empty but actually move it? ------------------------------------------------- In ops manager, Checkmark all of the ones you want to move. Right click, copy, move red arrow to where you want them to be, and paste. I think this is what you are looking for. If your trying to move the whole group, grab group, drag and drop.
