Here is the information that the AE sent me with that.
"Attached is the engraving cycle that you will need to load into the
control, for now put it into the folder you are working in and make sure it
is loaded into the NC. Later, see below.
The following is an example of how it is used and with a variable that will
increment each time. To find out what each number in the cycle is for,
press retranslate when you open it up in iso - services.
I'm not sure where you want to engrave, on the surface or the face, but
this is for the surface. And the coordinates have been moved with ATRANS
and rotated with AROT to so that the parameters in the cycle make sense.
To engrave on the face you will use transmit and work in G17 and DIAMOF,
and you won't need to move or rotate the coordinates.
Later:
Once you get everything working put it into the "user" or "Customer" folder
(in iso) then power on and off the machine. This way it can stay in on
spot and not have to be moved around.
When you press "retranslate" on cyclegra() in iso you will see.
Rg801 is the variable that is the serial #.
Hope this helps!
This is one for a Siemens 840D lathe control.
It is set for doing the peripheral surface now.

Hi,
I have set my laptop up so I can access my Desktop from home. I am using OpenVPN software (mandated by the company here). It hooks up great and I can see both monitors etc. If Mastercam is already open I can access it but I can not start it up from scratch. It says no SIM found. I have a hasp plugged directly into the front of my desktop USB.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
I am sure Rick will tell you the crunch time is in direct relation to the file size for both softwares. MC = large file size and long crunch time, Surfcam = smaller file size and shorter crunch time.
My Blackberry analogy was that they are not listening to what their users want and need.....guess what happened to Blackberry's users?
Issuing new releases without fixing current bugs is pointless IMHO. As Rick pointed out customers who purchased the software are being asked to pay (maintenance fees) otherwise you are stuck with their problems. Not a good business model one would think.
I can say for certainty that the latest update of Vericut was prompted by a problem we had. They sent a tech to our shop and we found the lines causing the undetected gouges. They went away and solved the problem and updated their software. Great response I thought.
I truly believe that you can compare Mastercam to BlackBerry....once a world leader. BlackBerry stayed complacent and the competition left them in the dust. They tried to catch up with a new great product but their users have gone some where else. The new MT in Mastercam is a small step in the right direction but the legacy of problems is still front and center.
