  1. Only a poor Programmer blames his software, I'm sure that with your limited mental capacity you and Smurfcam will be perfect together. By all means dump MC for Surfcam, you'll either come back to MC or return to a rewarding career in fast food.
  2. + 1000 to Jim Gamble, a real good man to deal with. Sold me Mastercam at two different companies and always willing to help in any way.
  3. Mick Emailed you the ones I had at home, hope it helps.
  4. Hey Mick, I believe there may be a couple on the FTP site, one's the oval logo and the other's just Ford. If either are not there let me know, because I do have them somewhere.
  5. Plung milling is definitely easier on the spindle than side milling, axial load vs. radial load is much better and plays to the machine's strength. We used to plunge mill using a 2" Iscar cutter with about nine inserts and there was no comparison to side milling's stresses on the machine.
  6. Mike, been using it for a couple of months now, very handy and much appreciated, Very nice job!
  7. Cam, we too use job boxes before, during and after the job is done. Any job specific tooling and gages, during the job we keep the job boxes for the active jobs in a designated area and they contain backup tooling for the job being run. We also have a form made up showing differnt toolholder types and log what cutter or drill was in what holder, what the flute length was, how far it extended out of the holder etc. We have a library of notebooks by customer that we put those pages in, so that anybody can go back and see how a job was setup in the past and also for consistancy on proven setups.
  8. Our approach is that we have a full time tool crib attendant, who sets up all of the tooling for a given job including presetting the length as well as checking for runout and gets any fixturing required as well as any inspection equipment such as gage pins, thread gages etc. The jobs are prepared on a tool cart which is signed out of the tool crib by the setup person as being complete. The setup person then sets up the job gets it thru inspection then turns the job over to an operator to run. At the completion of the job the setup person comes back to the machine tears the job down and returns everything to the tool crib. During the operation of the job if there is a need for a tooling change the setup person or the tool crib attendant is the only authorized personnel permitted to change out a tool. As a result there is no tooling laying around our shop. There are exceptions of course, we have several large horizontals that we leave the tooling in, one because we have the magazine capacity, and two the jobs are always repeating and they are virtually setup all of the time. My $.02
  9. Not much of an increase to speak of we are presently getting $.37. We are currently looking at a briquetting machine as we have our own Brass & Aluminum Foundry and would like to have the ability to melt them down.
  10. We use a laptop with a Lynksys PCMCIA Card and a Lynksys Wireless-G Access Point and it works great! No more going back and forth From a PC to the Machine to upload or download and have good signal strength throughout the shop. We have not experienced any transfer problems ie; loss of data either way, and the best part is I did it for $150. not including the cart. Good Luck
  11. Get the HSK 63A Holders, the 40's are way too small we have the 63's with a 15k spindle. Look closely into the holder availability with your local suppliers because we have problems getting them from time to time, as HSK becomes more popular in the States the supply is not meeting the demand at this time. We like the Techniks brand also the Lyndex/Nikken. Good Luck
  12. Wally, I wish you the best! The only advise I have is, as James said one second, one minute, one day at a time. Find yourself a good sponser who has your best interests in mind. Do the thirty meetings in thirty days and be strong. I've never been addicted to alcohol but had a monster addiction to amphetamines while in the service. Today I do not drink or drug and am married to a wonderful woman who's in her 16th. year of sobriety. If you ever need someone to talk to,let me know and I'll give you my number.
  13. Every Weekend without fail!
  14. Thanks so very much to everyone. The problem is solved and we have a very good Sabre post as a result. I knew you guys would have a solution. Thanks Again
  15. Good Morning All, We are tweaking the Post for a Cincinnati Sabre with 2100 controls. What we are trying to accomplish is in our drill cycles we would like to have a "W" at every location within a given cycle and not just on the G81 line. Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks in Advance to all who reply.
  16. Hey Billy What's Up! I've been waiting for you to show up. Hope things are good in the Land of Oz! We're back to using Mastercam, had to dump that Esprit! Things are great where I'm at now, I've gotten out of programming full time and back in to management, didn't take them long. I've been the Shop Manager here for about three months. Let me know if there's ever anything I can do to help. How 'bout them Bolts!
  17. PTEC in Pinellas County has two classes Based on the Mastercam Handbook Levels One & Two. Check Them Out, they are held in the evenings from 5:00 Until 9:00 Mondays & Wednesdays.
  18. Thank You All Very Much for the help I knew it was something I did not get. Hopefully I can finish this job up in the A.M.
  19. Good Morning Everyone, I am quite inexperienced at doing rotary indexing type of work. I have put a file in the MC9 folder on the FTP site named 11456266.mc9, as you can see from the file we are trying to get two parts out of each blank. We have a vise oriented in the vertical position on an angle plate, on a Mori Horizontal using the Mpmaster post. The job is very simple two turns at 30 Degrees in either direction. The problem is in the turns, the part datum is in the upper left hand corner of the blank, when the program comes to the indexing move the table rotates correctly but my spindle is machining out in space where the part had originated. It is obviously something I do not understand being new to this type of work and I feel like an idiot because I've done far more complicated work than this. I knew you guys would have the answers as you always do. Thanks very much in advance to all that replay. Have a great day ! P.S. The vise holding the part is not situated in the center of the rotary table it is to the front towards the spindle.
  20. Happy Birthday! Thanks to everyone for all your help.
  21. Thanks MayDay, That Did the Trick! I will Check that out as well Rekd. Thanks Much!
  22. Hello Everyone, I'm back using Mastercam again and have a post question, no I don't need a Post! I have a couple of Cinci Millicraps which need the "Y" to be output in Arcs along with the "X", "I", & "J". Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Again in Advance! It's Great to Be Back
  23. 61 hours this week for me, we're working today to get paid for next Friday. Also we're pretty swamped, a lot of good orders coming in lately. I hope it's a sign of things to come. I hope that everyone has a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving! Regards,
