  1. Make a back up copy of your pst file before you go and edit it.
  2. I have used the FBD and found it to be "Awesome"....this had to be set up properly for hydraulic applications though with different types of configurations and takes time and investment...I discovered that you could force different applications..ie macros or cutting and drilling techinques with different holes and save them to the library and when you clicked on the find icon it would work without hitches.... If you are machining in one plane, ie top you can auto sort out the operations by tools or order of etc ...and a few other ways When working with many planes ie horizontal...its easier to sort out what you want and post it out accordingly. I wish I could comment on the FBM but I'm partial to the way things are cut and didnt get a chance to really make that side work
  3. +1 to ya John quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- is it hard to customise them? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That depends on the changes that you wish to do ...if you are just changing the output of a simple title block that appears when you post a program then you can easily, as long as you dont delete the "'s around them and insert what you want to appear. If you are looking to output canned cycles and macros that dont appear in your post then your in for a learning curve. You will need to sit down and decide what you want your post to do and how to change it will be a discovery in itself
  4. Thanks guys....getting the Z increment in the label was my next move on this post but Im still trying to get the repeat to output with the depths of cut. I program both the 430 and 530 controller by hand and using mastercam...just trying to get the same output as I would if I were to do it by hand
  5. OK Maybe a different approach.... anybody get their MP master to call up the number of repeats that is required in their sub programs ....if so... what do you have in this area of your post? would be located in here pbld, n$, "M98", *sub_prg_no$, e$
  6. Double post ....Holy $hite....WAS THAT A SIGHTING?
  7. No disrespect but the head guys on the floor need to go see this too.....If you dont they will continually turn things down ..ie speeds and feeds and what not...sorry Its just the nature of the beast cause its going to scare the living $hit out of them at first....They are only trying to be safe ...so when they see hardened metal being cut like butter they are going to flinch ....or be gun shy if you wish and its going to take some time to get them to get up to speed..Give it some time and be patient...they will see the benefits when more work moves in and out of the door cause your quotes are more than competitive.
  8. Hey guys...was wondering if any of you were able to get your post to put out a repeat number after the CALL LBL when clicking on the absolute/incremental subprogram icon in the depths of cut window psub_call_s$ #Call to sub level sub_prg_no$ = sub_prg_no$ + 100 #Add sub number offset pbld, n$, "CALL LBL ", *sub_prg_no$,(SOMETHING NEEDS TO GO IN HERE) e$ Would also like to see that option in the ramping window as well and be able to get it to work that way....anY takers? 9. I find these work out well when you want the option to use an insert copy mill ...or ball nose if you wish...from SECO http://www.caulfieldindustrial.ie/files/se...p=Mini%20Master
  10. You have a Makino?...and your not machining hardened stuff?....WOW...just WOW.... Concensus has proven that to machine it hardened is the best way to improve tool life...not to mention ....WOW....just WOW All kidding aside you need to chat with a reputable tool applications engineer that is in your area...most of the tool reps know of one or two and will send them your way if you request it.
  11. EDIT!!!! First of all "I am not a Guru" Should have put that in here before I answered the post quote: i have been chipping out the tips of the endmills If you are using a sharp corner endmill for roughing you might want to look at something with a radius on the corner as this will take more stress and not prone to chip off....something with .01 or .02 max for roughing works well...the tool steels your talking about are rather abrasive in the soft state and tend to burn them off faster...then if you require a sharp corner ...chase it with a finisher. Your feeds and speeds are about right for .008 per tooth and you can check them with this little calculator if you wish. http://www.carbidedepot.com/formulas-milling.htm If there was a way you could get air to clear the chip out would make a great improvement on your perfomance....
  12. can you post a pic of what your doing so that we can get a better idea....are you working with a 4th axis? If so your planes may not be correct If you are running a 5 axis you may have to use a point over top of the hole to keep the lollypop in position and cut all around the perimeter.
  13. Ok I give up....lol ...im not sure if its in the parc or the pncoutput that is giving you the double G02 and i cant copy the parc due to the Parenthesis being seen as an HTML tag.. I will take a look at it if you send me the pst file that you are copying from if you wish....email is in my profile
  14. ok next up pncoutput #Movement output pcom_moveb comment$ if coolant$ <> 0 & coolant$ <> sav_coolant, [ pbld, n$, sm09, e$ sav_coolant = coolant$ ] if coolant$ = 1, sm09 = sm09_0 if coolant$ = 2, sm09 = sm09_1 if coolant$ = 3, sm09 = sm09_2 if cool_zmove = yes$ & (nextop$=1003 | (nextop$=1011 & t$<>abs(nexttool))), coolant$ = zero pcan if cuttype = zero, ppos_cax_lin #Toolplane rotary positioning if gcode$ = zero, prapidout if gcode$ = one, plinout if gcode$ > one & gcode$ < four, pcirout if mr_rt_actv, #Restore absolute/incremental for G51/G68 [ absinc$ = sav_absinc mr_rt_actv = zero ] pcom_movea
  15. I was not getting proper offsets to output with a Heidanhain post and missing feed rates as well....this actually fixed it up .... Me thinks John is spot on with missing the e$ on the end though....can you copy and paste your piece of your post that has something similar to this pcirout #Output to NC of circular interpolation if not(arccomp), pcompwarn if plane$ = zero & fmtrnd(zinc)<>0, pheloutz else, pcirout1 pcirout1 #Output to NC of circular interpolation pbld, n$, "CC", parc, e$ pcan1, pbld, n$, "C", `sgfeed, pcirxyz, pcout, *sgcode, pccdia, feed, strcantext, scoolant, e$ Maybe we can get a better idea of what is going on?
  16. maybe this might help I had to go through mine as well with a modified MPmaster http://www.eMastercam.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...ic;f=1;t=031184
  17. There are certain practices that you should adhere to for the sake of the machine....IE Turn your rapid down on the machine to like 10% of 20%....before walking out the door....tools that crash at 100% can and will smash bearings...whereas a controlled crash will overload the machine and just error it out if gets into any trouble. Check....Tooling with inserts....if you have some worn inserts that are in the tool...replace them ...you can always use the slightly worn ones during the day when you are there. try to avoid HSS....drills cant be helped but make sure they are sharp or sharpened before loading them in the machine Use your workhorses (dependable tooling)...Just because the Salesman says his new tool will run all day and night doesnt mean it will....new tooling has to be proven out time and time again to get best results. As its stands....these guys are coming up with great suggestions
  18. I must confess I have never seen and Anilam post and not sure of its configuration....can you repost this thread with the title of "Need help with altering Anilam post" so that others might be more assistance Make sure you dont misspell by typing "Need Anilam Post"
  19. You may need to get ahold of your reseller and tweak the posts the way you want them to work as you have 4 different configs that you are playing with now that I see in your list of mastercam licences. My bad ...I presumed that you were in the process of tweaking the post yourself. So have you got a name for your new machine definition...ie ....Okuma....Fadal....Haas?
  20. what kind of post and if it started off as a generic ...you should find this pset_mach #Set post switches by reading machine def parameters rot_ax_cnt = 0 rotaxerror = 0 #maxfeedpm = 999999 #Uncomment these variables to force use of machine def values as initial lowest max feedrate value #maxfeedpm_m = 9999999 #Otherwise the default (post) initialization setting is used as initial value !maxfeedpm, !maxfeedpm_m
  21. quote: Also the program made on the control(that works)has an .nc extention. You also said that you were able to transfer the program back and forth. Are you using a Heidi post configured for either? There is a header and a tail in the file that must be adheared to for the controller to see the program the words BEGIN PGM "program name" INCH END PGM "program name" INCH should be at the start and finish of the mastercam program....Is this in your programs>
  22. Your controller may only read .ISO and .H programs Are you using a Heidi post configured for either?
  23. what is the extension that the mastercam program is writing....nc?....ISO?.....it should be .H
