  1. I was working in a mold shop were they had plates like that. At first I was so worried that I indicated everything after roughing. Thing never moved. The optirough toolpaths help. It's one of those things that you won't know until you try it.
  2. Yes sir. The ones you are making are gonna require some serious skills
  3. I just did this to a holder to check for head clearance during backplot.
  4. Did you update your posts? (c-hook UpdatePost.dll) I only updated our paid posts and with the 3 axis machines, I made new machine configurations within X7.
  5. WOW, this forum is great. It's sunday 4:20 and I found this thread. AWESOME DUDES!!! Been fighting this problem for about an hour. :oldforumcheers:
  6. Ron, I changed those settings and it still cuts through the part during the rapid moves. Rich, I turned on safety cylinder and it makes a difference in backplot but it still cuts trough the part. I checked the safety cylinder in top and front view and the part is within the safety area. I attached two files. One with Safety OFF and one with Safety ON This is a flow 5 axis toolpath by the way. Thank you guys
  7. Hello guys, Are there a linking settings for 5 axis clearance moves to avoid collisions in verify? In the attached image, it shows a retract value of 7 inches. I have it this high to avoid collisions in verify. The, "arc" in red shows what it actually does on the machine. it retracts to 1" (or whatever value I input ) and moves to the other side simultaneously. Following more or less the depiction in the attached image. Sometimes I forget to put the smaller retract value before posting and it alarms out in the machine. So I'm wondering if I can change something in MasterCam. But so far, I can't find anything.
  8. Have you restarted your computer yet?
  9. Dont forget to grase them up often and the robodrills will run luke champs
  10. Thank you guys for all the links and information. Now I don't have to buy the 1st thing our tool guy sells us. :oldforumcheers:
  11. Hello folks, They're getting a DMU50 with an 18k spindle. Our fastest spindle here was 13.5k so we're going to need a few holders with a little extra, "umph" I wanted to ask the experts for your opinions and recommendations. Heat shrink maybe? I recently purchased a Techniks Slim Fit collet endmill holder and its rated to 25k. It is pretty cool. Thanks
  12. I believe this is a Mitsubishi control. The other day, some Mori sales guys were in the shop and asked us if we needed help in anything, I said, "yes, I want to DNC off the card" They got on the phone with their tech and tried to set it up. It still didn't work. I think it's an option that needs to be turned on because we can't even DNC from a desktop PC. Ended up moving the setup to another machine
  13. Thanks for the replies. NewbeX4, the code, M198 is the sub-program call code. With the RS-232 we are able to send program back n forth but not run DNC. Yes Allan, I forgot that part. I do call M198 P1(P1 is the number on the memory card) Meh thinks it's an option we have to buy.
  14. Hey folks, I have a question for you. I hope you can help me. We have a Mori 5100. I'm trying to run DNC off the memory card but it doesn't do anything. According to the manual, (and other FANUC Controls) I set the I/O channel to 4. We can transfer programs from the memory card to the control memory fine, but we can't run DNC. Do you guys know if it's possible? When main program reads M198 it just stays in RUN/START mode but doesn't do anything. Something odd I noticed is that it doesn't alarm out when it reads M198 and there's no memory card. It just stays in "START" mode but doesn't do anything. It should alarm out right? Thanks in advance. The force is not strong with me today.
