Would any of you please see this file, and explain what i am doing wrong. Trying to cut a 3d-contour, but tool stays above part.
In case Link is not correct, its 3d-contour at MC9 folder.
3D-Contour
James,
I have seen options of Q1-Q4 using G05.1, would you please explain the difference on these options.
Also, how is it possible to turn on AICC in middle of a program, if i insert anywhere but on 1st tool I get alarm.
Seen TV commercial on this, It comes with PC based Art/router software that resembles MasterCam Art somewhat. Then i suppose its G-Code that transfers to Compact Flash card then to machine. Looks like all cuts are parallel surface cuts at 200ipm or so.

Thanks John for that Link.
I am using AMD 64 X2 4200+ Dual, not certain if this meets above requirements.
I have had oppurtunity to work with Mori-Seikis, Makinos, S&K..etc Machines and also with disposable throw-aways such as Hass and Fadal. They are light years away from each other in quality and price. But on performance and output have not seen much difference. Sure, I would prefer to run a $1 million machine thats holds .0002 tolerances all day long. But on the majority of work (aerospace) that ive been fortunate to work on these past 10 years, the Fadal and Hass hold there own. If i were to start a shop they would be my 1st choice.
AICC...not sure what it represents, but we use on 0iM controls for high speed machining.
G05.1 Q1 at line previous to G43
G05.1 Q0 at line after last Z move of program.
Running of Flash Card on Fanuc 0Mi control was creating problem of not being able to restart in middle of program. Today i tried this, broke up programs on flash card creating individual program for each tool.
Main program in Memory looks like this:
O0001
M198 P1001(Tool-1)
M198 P1002(Tool-2)
M198 P1003(Tool-3)
...
...
M30
Now operators have functionality of starting off at any tool after breakage, reset..etc.
Someone please explain this; You throw a piece of raw stock on vise, pick up tools from top of raw material. 1st tool is usually a Facing tool, removing the "datum". What datum do you use to touch off when a tools breaks in middle of operation? Or, what datum is used in future on a production job when tools need replacing and material varies?
Only constant i know is the BOTTOM of jaws, parallels, table..etc.
When surface contouring an undercut wall with dovetail cutter, I turn off gouge-check to force cutter to go under wall.
Is this correct method that you all use?
Is it possible to have MC do this undercut, and also avoid shanking out?
From Dell Site:

Not all current applications and/or peripherals are compatible with 64-bit and may not function properly. Be sure to verify compatibility with all application and peripheral vendors prior to purchasing a Dell Precision platform with a 64-bit operating system. Anyone using these computers with MasterCam?
How do you all force tool not to wrap around corners or cut both sides of surface while using Surface Contour ?
Please look at surfcontour.mc9, I need tool to stay inside.
Wow!!
Busy topic, you all have me now interested in looking into Predator also. Didn't quite catch which of you is selling this and is immediately available for a demo. Please contact me.
I must decide by end of week on purchse of Vericut software for simulating 5 axis toolpaths.
Just recieved my X cd's but have not installed yet (waiting on system build).
Ive read other posts that mention maybe a more robust MC verification package in X.
Could I get opinions on wether MC Veify is sufficient or to go with VeriCut.
