  1. With Older Vector style plotters, you might need to add drivers that are no longer supported by Windows. I believe that WINPLOT by Softech is the product.
  2. How About Proof-Board or Butter-Board? ProofBoard
  3. To Dave Thompson, I was unsuccesfull in e-mailing response to you. Mail was returned. Please delete if inappropiate. Catia Users Forum
  4. I created some cars for PineWood Derby from models i got at 3D-cafe.
  5. Speed it up till it breaks, then back it up a little, Grasshopper. (my master loved this line)
  6. Would it be possible to add switch?? or so to temporarilly unassociate geometry from tool manager. I find that sometimes need to add some feature I neglected at initial creation and will rotate, x-form, etc..And after return to initial position need to regnerate all toolpaths, I have some that use 200+ operations.
  7. With Moderators permission, I will direct you to other CAD/CAM forum i use quite a bit.
  8. Try, Windows Commander from Ghisler.Com, it works as interface to ZIP,RAR,TAR,ARJ,ACE and more. Using a double pane DOS style window (which i prefer over Windows style file manger--no dragging nonsense). Also has built-in FTP, Network Mapper, and more.
  9. Jay, Should you also discuss the benefits of zipping files before uploads?
  10. HANITA offers an excellent manual that I rely on extensively, "Hanita Operators HandBook". You should be able to order one from there web site. Hanita
  11. Lets keep our fingers crossed on that one LIMITLESS. As for myself if a company offered me say $1/2 million a year to program, heck to do anything, I would take it. To heck with the stability of the business, i would enjoy while it lasted.
  12. P.S.: Read that in 2001 Tom Cruise cleared $30 million dollars for 12 days of work.
  13. The major issue on this contract dispute is revenue sharing amongst owners. I consider this very important issue that needs to be resolved, because I am sick of Georgie buying World Series teams year after year. I would like my team, the Anaheim Angels,to one day have chance at going to the Big Game. Well since owners cannot agree amongst themselves, revenue issue, the players have been forced to act as referee's on this matter and for this they are blamed as cry-baby millionaires. Thats just not fair to them. I am hoping that revenue sharing does not ruin MBL as it has NFL, with all teams on same level field there is way to much team jumping going on. I have no clue who is on what team from year to year, so i cannot develop loyalty for any particular team.
  14. Sounds like great place to do our Labor Day cook-outs. Ill bring the steaks.
  15. Borrowing from your sugestions the solution was so easy to determine. Projected horizontal line unto surface from side view and viewed from top view came out identical to my original result. See Compound2.mc8 Thank all again!!!
  16. Thanks for pointing me in right direction on this matter. I will try your suggestions and inform of results. Thanks
  17. I have parts that need to face at various planes not parallel to base. I have discovered that by skewing part on Horizontal machine then rotating B axis i can do planar facing, our engineers were looking at farming out to 5-axis shops. My problem is in amount of skewing required, i did first by trial and error but was wondering if MC could give me solution somehow, maybe by measuring U-V's ? I have uploaded Compound.MC8 to FTP, in case somones willing to give it a shot. Thank You.
  18. Thad, I didn't read thru all posts on this thread, but I understand the problem you are describing about no compensation for shallow cuts with bull or ball nose endmill. I ran into this situation also when converted to MC from UG, my workaround is to create offset charts for different radii and rely on them often when drawing my geometry creating false (tangent) lines for actual toolpaths. In UG if you had say a pocket with outward beveled walls, I could select topmost edge for driveline and select floor depth and Ug would automatically compensate regardles of chamfer/form tool diam. Sorry to all, not meaning to knock MC which I still consider overall far superior. Just a neat feature i miss.
  19. Andy, Check out AutoVue from Cimmetry. I use for IGES as well as Native CATIA files. But also does all major CAD formats; Pro-E, UniGraphics, Solidworks etc.. AutoVue

    UNFOLD

Would you elaborate on use of this function, please. I can not find any documentation on Unfold.
  21. My current employer has hired some former union members from nationaly known defense company. There response to any chore is "I got to much on my plate allready", or "Well tackle that one next week". In early 90's I took on job at union shop, on 2nd day, woo-hoo, i replaced centerdrill all on my own. Well, everyone freaked because that was lead-mans job not the operator.I lasted 2 days. In my opinion, unions are better suited for those occupations who traditionally have been oppressed ; janitors, housecleaners, laborers etc. To collectivley improve on there minimun wages and non-existant benefits.
  22. Jovato, I used MS-Paint to edit a bitmap that i found on internet and changed size to .33 x .33,renamed to Delete.BMP and copied over to CommonIcons. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue on including results here on forum. Kevin, would you explain this one?. According to some, the shrinkage is not necessary but i am concerned about how bigger file size might affect MC memory allocations.
  23. Figured i would give it another shot.
  24. Anyone know of firm in SoCal, that can digitize Mylar drawings into Cad format drawing?..I have used in past a company in Lake Elsinore, but can no longer find them.
