  1. I just changed the folder for the temp to be C:\MCAMX\COMMON\TEMP\ and then it's automaticly unchecking the "Use Windows Temporary Directory"... I have saved and restartet MCX and tried again... I still comes up with this failure, but still with the old path: "c:\users\ag\appdata\local\temp\mastercam\10000014411\hsttoolpathko.tmp.... ?!?!?
  2. I have tried to go into Mastercam settings and uncheck the box "Use Windows Temporary Directory", but even I save it or even save it as a new config file it automaticly switch itself checked again, when I close the dialog box... If I check/uncheck any other boxes they remained changed, so it seems like it don't want to use it's own?
  3. I have cleared my TEMP folder with all what was possible to remove.. Still the same problem.. Have also checked the box with "run as administrator"... Anybody with ideas?
  4. Thanks for the suggestions... I'm at home now, but will check monday... I remember there were a lot of folders in the "temp" folder from Mastercam... The MCX file is laying on my desktop and I have full administration rights on my computer so guess it isn't about that....
  5. I many times run into a problem when I use "Surface High Speed" tool paths... When it's done regenerating the path, it comes up with a failure: Warning - error opening "c:\users\ag\appdata\local\temp\mastercam\1000024408\hsttoolpathko.tmp"... Anyone with this problem and ideas to solve it? I'm still stocked on X4... Thanks in advance for any input! Edit: Maybe I should add that I'm administrator on the computer and it's Win7 64bit if it has any relevans...
  6. Got that at home and it rocks, for gaming and for Mastercam as well... And graphic card surely makes a huge difference for verify time, at least in my case... Here at work I changed from a Quadro FX 570 to a ATI Radeon 5670... Could almost take a nap during verify with the FX 570, but 5670 really speeded it up, even it doesn't come close to the GTX460....
  7. Thanks for the info.. I'll ask them tomorrow what possibilities there is...
  8. One from Cimco... It's not working really well, since it was made only for a specific job many years ago... But it's not a problem with the post in this case... It's doing what Mastercam is processing...
  9. Never used that one before... I'll give it a try... Thanks for the idea!
  10. Isn't it possible to make it just out from the geometry in some way... I thought it was just simple contour and told the customer that I could make it, but now I feel a bit worried....
  11. Would love to do it with 5axis... But I got a 5 axis licens and a lathe licens, but on 2 different hasp's.... .... So can't use 5 axis on the Integrex... Company won't pay to get them together...
  12. I have run into a little problem... I have an axle with a increasing pitch... I have to make the job on an Integrex by milling... My problem is that when I create it as a contour with axis substitution or with a C-axis toolpath with axis substitution, even that the geometry that I use has a growing pitch, it doesn't follow the geometry, but generate a toolpath with a constant pitch, like it's calculating how many turns the axle takes and then divide with the length and makes a constant distant between each rounds.... Is there any possibility to cheat it to work or can Axis substitution only work with constant pitch when it's unrolled....? Any inputs are appreciated!
  13. Try also to look in your MCX folder in the documentation folder... There is alot of information regarding the different areas of Mastercam... Also try to contact your reseller... I once contacted mine and they gave me a lot of different documents and powerpoint presentations that they use in their own teaching, which was very helpful... With the right documentation, experience is the best teacher...
  14. SP3... 64 bit... I'll send you a PM with my email...
  15. Sounds like a weird case if you can't open it in X5 either but SW2011 is working... Could you try to create a file in SW2011 and upload and I'll try to open it in X4...?
  16. I just had another guy try to create a SW2011 file for me on his computer... It also works fine to open on my computer... I tried both files on the other computer we have, which have exactly the same X4 configuration as mine... The only difference is that I got some .cp6 and .dll files to 5 axis machining from Cimco on mine, but that was back in middle of November before X5 was release and then I have X+ setup sheet for X4 in the C-hooks... Don't consider that to be an reason for anything?... I tried for fun also to open it into the X2 MR2 I have installed and it was working fine as well...
  17. I just created a very simple file this morning and it's working fine... No problem with open it in MC X4 MU3... I have attached the part I just created as .txt format because all others was rejected.. So if anybody has interest to try to see if it's my MC or my SW there is the reason, then please change it to a ".SLDPRT" file...
  18. I have the basic SW2011 SP3 installed, nothing else and as I wrote, MC X4 MR3... I don't have X5 and has never been on my computer, so it can't have taken anything from there... But the 2010 version of Solid Works was installed on the computer before, but was removed before the 2011 was installed...
  19. Just to revive an old thread... I might have made a miracle, but I just switched to SW 2011 and don't have any problems with opening them in X4 MU3... Any other with same experience?... For me it was one of my main arguments against our IT department to switch to X5....
  20. We have used Sandvik Coromant from time to time for special shaped grooving inserts... They make a good job and depends on how busy they are you might be able to get it quick.... I suppose all main insert suppliers are offering this type of service, so you can evt. try round about depends on where you buy your inserts...
  21. I might be confused here, but if you want each operation to post out seperately you can give each operation a different NC name, i.e. 1, 2, 3 etc and it will post out seperately.. Right click on the operation, choose "Edit selected operation, choose "Change NC file name" and write it there... There might be other and easier options, but that's the one I know... HTH..
  22. If you are using the right cutting speeds for the drills, that will turn the coolant into an umbrella of water, which will never reach the cutting tip... Except you have really high coolant pressure through, 10-15000 rpm or even higher if it's possible will only work with a closed collet and I/K drills... At least my experience...
  23. We are machining quite alot of Acetal and we always use carbide drill with internal coolant, high feed and peck with full retract each 50% of drill diameter... For deeper holes I/K is really a must, else you'll need to go pretty slowly to avoid melting or very small dept at a time...
  24. We are using the KMX63 on our Integrexes and it works really great.... We use Capto on both lathe and milling machines and it works really great too... As other people also wrote, the range of possibilities with Capto is bigger, since it's much more used and therefor a wider range of tools... Extremely good for tough jobs, especially if longer overhang is needed....
