  1. Hi, I'm trying to build a machine simulator for our new 5 Axis machine. How can I make the XML document? or is this something that should machine manufacture provide with their solid model? Thank you.
  2. Make sure you have stock in your Z.
  3. Cathedral, I had to move my geometry at C0 and then transform my operation. It worked fine. Thank you.
  4. Yes, its a pretty cool shop.
  5. yes I do have 5axis. I'll try it. Thank you.
  6. CJep, It does not require a simultaneous 4axis cut. It is a Z and X move. It is a 3d Contour cut.
  7. Thank you for your reply odessa. My machine def. and post are configured correctly. I think it is a toolpath issue.
  8. Hi. I'm trying to cut a gear on our Caxis lathe. I need to run my custom tool to run on a 3d curve and then possibly transform that toolpath. When I try to post the operation, I get an error message " error- a valid cut type was not found, check rotary settings". I can not share the original file but I made a simple file with a similar geometry that I need to cut. Attached you will find the file. T.mcx-8 Thank you. Ara.
  9. make sure people close Mastercam when they are not using it.
  10. I don't thing you can find one out there. Only Mastercam reseller have access to the encrypted portion of the post and they will not going to share it. The .psb file is a big file and its not easy to work with. I could not believe it until I saw it. Unless you are trying to make DWO and TCPC work for you, you don't need to have access to .psb file.
  11. You can use the Generic fanuc or Haas 5 Axis post that comes with Mastercam and configure it for most of the machines out there. What kind of machine do you have?
  12. We bought a Mori NlL 3000 lathe and we do not like the finish on our live tooling. I don't think we are going to buy any Mori or DMG machine.

    Makino D800Z

this machine will come with all the bells and whistles. we are getting HSK-A100. Makino Professional 5 Control.
  15. Hi all, We are going to replace one of our 5 axis machines with a Makino D800Z. I was wondering if any of the forum members have used this machine? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Ara.
  16. Change this Value inside your post. use_clamp : 1 #Use the automatic clamp Mcode To use_clamp : 0 #Use the automatic clamp Mcode
  17. Inside your post change this: brk_max_ang : 1 #'brk_mv_head' maximum angle move, applied if chordal To brk_max_ang : -1 #'brk_mv_head' maximum angle move, applied if chordal Happy Birthday.
  18. All of the settings for Generic 5X Posts must be configured in the PST file itself. Do you need to have the rotary breaks on? if not there is a variable inside post called: use_clamp : 1 #Use the automatic clamp Mcode. <-------- Change this to zero.

    POST MODI

    your settings are wrong. Change it to this: rotaxis1$ = vecx #Zero rotdir1$ = vecy #Direction rotaxis2$ = vecz #Zero rotdir2$ = -vecx #Direction
  20. Thank you Dave. I replaced the picture of the machine with no enclosure and it's working now.

    POST MODI

Are you familiar with editing post? as Ron mentioned the generic 5Axis post will not work without some adjustment. Start with this to fix your vectors, you might need to change the sign of rotdirl$ to get the right output. rotaxis1$ = vecx #Zero rotdir1$ = vecy #Direction #Secondary axis angle description (in machine base terms) #With nutating (mtype 3-5) the nutating axis and this plane normal #are aligned to calculate the secondary angle rotaxis2$ = vecz #Zero rotdir2$ = -vecx #Direction
  22. I'm only using 4 0r 5 different colors.
