  1. Jay I would be posting my files if I had any that are not already available. I am dead in the water with this 5 axis project as the college still has not called Haas to fix the trunnion servo lag error. Ticks me off because it is a brand new trunninon and it hasn't worked from the start.
  2. Here is one a little different than it renaming to .tmp. I just had one on an XP box where every time I moved the md, control, and post file to a network drive and then tried pointing mastercam to them it would move the darn control file back to the shared mcamx6 folder on the C: drive. Then with this same company we did it with a W7-64 box and it worked fine. WTH?
  3. So, did anyone watch the webinar? I was busy and only able to watch the last 10-15 minutes. Did they record it and are they going to make it available as a download?
  4. There was something about how Solidworks was originally installed. I don't remember the exact terminology but it had something to do with installing Solidworks remotely causing that registry problem. I've run into twice on tech calls and both times forwarded the call to CNC Software. They got Mcamforsw working by changing something in the registry.
  5. BTW the above method works only if you are picking points or the center points of an arc. It does not work if you have the selection manager set to "entities". What I do is leave it set to "points" (the white arrow head button), then use the autocursor overide drop down arrow and right click on "arc center" to lock it into that mode, then pick your circles.
  6. When the drill point selection window comes up go to the sorting button first and make sure all of the sorting buttons are turned off. If one of them is on just click on it to turn it off. Then pick your point locations and it will follow your picking order.
  7. I can repeat that drill point addition problem on my system too. James will just have to try harder to make it crash.
  8. Downloaded and installed to X6MU2 on W7-64bit easily without any issues. Thanks Ernie & Ron & everyone at Verisurf.
  9. No, it will come in as a dumb solid without the tree. I believe it is only with Solidworks where we can bring in the native solids tree.
  10. did you download and install the 64 bit version of mastercam direct or the 32-bit version?
  11. Also make sure Inventor is not running when you install mastercam direct for Inventor. Try uninstalling direct and then re-installing it.
  12. It is important that Inventor is already installed and working before you install Mastercam direct for Inventor. At least that is the way it is for Mastercam direct for Solidworks.
  13. Jason, It will create G01 linear feed rate move that will maintain a straight line without doglegging and hitting the part.
  14. A while back (beginning of X6) there was a thread about stock to leave changing back to .050 on some 3D HST cycles. Can anyone point me to that thread? Tried searching but not finding it. If I remember the solution had something to do with operation defaults? or was it deleting the config file?
  15. Call up a machine group in the operations manager. Expand properties, click on files folder, click the exclamation mark button for operation defaluts. In the new window navigate to properties/tool settings and change your settings in there. Then green check your way out of all the screens. See pics below.
  16. I have noticed my post count has been stuck on 401 for about the last month. Anyone else notice this on their emastercam post count?
  17. We mounted the trunnion yesterday and started testing it out. I attached some pictures of the clamping device. The name on it is 5th Axis and paper work says San Diego CA. There is not much space on this Haas mini mill for 5-axis work. The first issue we ran into was with the unit mounted in the center T-slot there was not enough stroke in Y axis when A was tilted to +90. Moved it to the back slot where it hung off the back of the table about an inch so. We then changed a Y-axis stroke parameter so students don't slam it into the Z-axis sheet metal on the column. The next issue was G91G28Z0. On this Haas mini-mill G28Z0 is not at max Z+ position, it is tool change height for the carousel. This would slam the tool into the part. Along with this is the fact that an M06 also goes to the G28Z0 position. To get around this problem we changed the post to output the following for every tool: G90G53Z4.45 G90G53X-8.5Y0(moves the tool to an X position between the part and the carousel) T02M06 G90G53Z4.25 rapid XY to part G43H2Z.1 cut the part G90G53Z4.25 M01 We also changed the post to output G90G53Z4.25 before each A or B rotation. We started to do some air cut testing and noticed that as it ran and and re-positioned the B-axis in 90 degree increments several times, it slowly started to lose its position by about 2 degrees. The machine would then alarm out with a TT? B-axis servo lag error. This a brand new Haas TR-110 trunnion. Not sure if it is the unit itself or some kind of encoder parameter that needs adjusting. I noticed when indicating the dove tail fixture that when reversing B direction with the hand wheel there was no indicator motion for a full half revolution of the hand wheel - backlash? Will play with this a little more but looks like Haas will have to get over here eventually. Does anyone know what parameters I can use to limit A- to about 20 degrees and A+ to about 120 degrees? Need to prevent students from rotating too far and hitting that Z axis sheet metal on the column.
  18. I have asked CNC to add this to a tech talkin article and place it on the mastercam extranet help center.
  19. +1 Just ran into this problem and this resolved it. I was somewhat confused as to which file to download so the one that worked was called: Sentinel LDK/HASP/Hardlock/HA SP4/HL Runtime Setup - 14.4MB - ver 6.23 - released 2012-03-28
