  3. those jokes are funny heres one : A bus stops and two Italian men get on. They seat themselves, and engage in animated conversation. The lady sitting behind them ignores their conversation at first, but her attention is galvanized when she hears one of the men say the following: ''Emma come first. Den I come. Two xxxx, they come together. I come again. Two xxxx, they come together again. I come again and pee twice. Then I come once-a-more.'' ''You foul-mouthed swine,'' retorted the lady indignantly. ''In this country we don't talk about our sex lives in public.'' ''Hey, coola down lady,'' said the man. ''Imma just tella my friend howa to spella Mississippi.
  4. in those sticky tight places for a comp move.......Create some geometery that blends into your contour above your part....use that as your comp on geo....then use the toolpath editer to force the tool down after comp is on to your X,Y,Z positions. the tool path editer can get in out of a lot of Jams..
  5. Haas has a incremental jog of .100TH ... it scares the crap out of me to see the table move that fast using the jog wheel...And the darn thing over shoots like crazy, Stay away from it!!! The controls are simple to use & the built in chip augers cool. tons of memory storage Sometimes if I,m useing a long Hog EM 4"& heat bults up, My tool holder wont release from the spindal.....A nice little wack does the trick. AND !!!! THERE BETTER THAN FADALS !!!!!
  6. As soon as I say I know Mastercam .The shop owners smiles from ear to ear! While thoses stuck WAYS of the the past,, Everything must be program by hand at the control start gettin nervous ,cause they cant figure out there current Brand X cadCAM system. I love saying to them.....I,ll race ya !to who can program faster & better ......mtc
  7. oic. So after I check that option in the job setup it will override the to path parameter pocketing values? I will play with that for a bit & compare the results...BTW i,m using V8.1.1.....& thanks for your helpful reply Rodger.
  8. Defind tool ......Parameter tab As i was setting up a brass feed & speed material library try to get M/C to match up with my manual calculations Ther are XY rough & XY finish options ......is this is for peripheral milling ? How does it affect the output of feedrate /chip load per tooth & rpm . When I open a default matieral in MC & post it...alum 6061(5X5 50% tool stepover square simple pocket) Then I change those are XY rough & XY finish And regen & post. I see no changes in output. What gives ? How does this work ?
  9. Program coding & application style. In this present state Mastercam cannot take full advantage of windows 32bit apps. Version 10 will solve all that! Along with faster processing time.
  10. lets Keep in mind that Mastercam is still under that DOS like inviroment bent into Windows. I know weve been down this road before ,so lets face facts thats IMHO is whats holding MC back. When Version 10 comes out (((( full windows ))))Powermill/shape will bite Mastercams dust! In process time!
  11. I have a Haas Tweeked in post thats from the V6 days & is really simple to edit. Some one from this forum Emailed it to me longs ago. Ive updated it to V8.1.1 & it a dream for me ! Email me if you want a copy ! I trying to figure out how to get the post to (see&)call my first tool at the end of program ,,,Just before the M30.
  12. order a box of set screws to fill the unused treaded holes....or lathe out a bunch & add a small screw drive slot
  13. Oic... Thanks for the information.....thats very useful
  14. I,m Just curious What tool path option are you guys talking about? I used the vector lenght option in the surface parallel tool path & in the lathe. I didnt notice change in the accuracy . Just curious .
  15. Yup thats the way i see it,rough & finish There both the same.

  17. I,m learning a Harding(Sp?) Guest 51 ... I set up text files for my tranfer,,toolchange position codes (my own special format) & use manual input toolpath just to keep every thing in one file package to post out. It works!
  18. I learned that conventional cutting on those big Boring mills Like Devigle(SP?) is the only way to go.1-1/4 to 3" dia roughing end mills will snap if climb cutting. Extream lenghts 3",,4",,,5",,,flute lenghts with dead slow rpms & feeds into corners might call for convention cutting. Jm2cents
  19. Thats not a Turkey ....Its a freakin .,.,., SKUNK !
  20. Backplot save As geometry uising a new layer,,,,,JUst delete the Z axis feed & retrack moves, Or...save the lettering tool path with its own special nci name. Then use ...project /named nci/ tool path
  21. I have programmed c axis lathes in the pass. I simply look at it though its a 4th axis set up. one way is to create xyz geometry cross hairs to the spindal center & select tool plane & contruction plane by the lines of the cross hairs. Remember those tool plane numbers As rotation angles & setup a c-axis template mc 8 or 9 file for future use. HTH Regards kenneth potter
  22. So the EDu version has a time out shelf life of months ? What happens after 9 months? Poof !!!! the Edu version dies & your 300 bucks is spent like a rental fee payment ? Just wanna know
  23. quote: Oh by the the way the Edu version does post and do every thing else The ED Verion Is only 300$ fully functional ! Weres the logic in that! Kenneth Potter
