  1. We have an Okuma LB300 EX Space Turn with OSP-2000l control. I know the max tool length for live tooling in the vertical position is 4.5" (don't ask HOW I know). My question is this, Is there a parameter or variable to set so i can have the machine alarm out if i touch the tool off and the offset is >4.5" ?? Thanks in advance!
  2. Sometimes when i use peel mill, i get a funky finish on the floors, especially when im using a stabilizer endmill. (they flex alot)
  3. I have a similiar issue in Lathe. I ALWAYS face .03 stock off of each part, It would be nice to set the position along axis to +.03 by default!
  4. I think its alot like "MoldMax" which is high Aluminum brass. Good heat disipation. The worst is drilling it. When we install waterlines through it, we like to gundrill them as regular drills tend to heat up and get stuck.
  5. On the ToolPath Parameters page, check box for Ref point. Then set your Reference points in front of your stock. Welcome to the Forums!
  6. Control Panel, System Properties, Advanced, Performance, Settings, set them exactly like gcode posted in his screen shot. I had them all checked make sure you click -Custom: Then change the settings. It worked for me Sandybar, im running a invidia Quadro fx card with drivers downloaded from invidia. Thanks again Gcode!
  7. Thanks gcode!! I copied the same settings you have set in your performance options, and everything works perfectly now!
  8. I have the same issues, also when i delete something, it stays untill i move my spaceball. I have a brand new Dell precision t1500 configured exactly the way my reseller instructed me!
  9. Sorry Jeremy, I didn't mean to "Hijack" your thread. Maybe we need a section just for the lathe or Mill/Turn people for these ideas?
  10. What about FBM and FBD for Lathe????? What about stock recognition when i'm milling it away in lathe?? THOSE would be basic enhancements.( just my 2cents.!)
  11. If those are core inserts for a mold, thats just a water dam, we turn those on a regular cnc lathe and then weld in the damn.
  12. under "Toolpaths" there is a "manual entry" tab.
  13. I use MCX5 in a mill/turn. I like the Plunge Turn toolpath. If you look under the Plunge turn rough tab, there is a Cut direction that you can set to Zig zag in either a pos. or neg. direction. Is this not close to what you are talking about? I have only used this for about a month now, with a Seco tool designed for this with very nice results! It allows me to have more tool positions available on the turret.
  14. Great ideas! I saw this in MMS January issue! I can;t wait to try it!
  15. oops! I edited before your post cappy, double check your depth of cut?
  16. Are you sure you have everything chained? Do you have your depth of cut set to high?
  17. Think Multus, way more room than a Okuma LB3000, especiall on the sub-side.
  18. I like it, I would use it if it will grab BOTH lathe AND mill tools from M/C. I program for 5axis mill turns and cant use x+ for this reason.
