Hi Peter, I had a look at the part last week and this way wouldn't betoo efficient for him in this case because there's about 220 holes and there's not much room where the profile is free of interruption. It took about 5 minutes to find all the holes and my system was having a hard time suppressing them and still there was work involved so in that case I'd prolly go traditionnal way.

Hi Rekd, maybe I have a solution for you if I understand right, when you go to toolpath drill, go to options right there and clear the selection (if there's one sorting selected) just click on it) and then do your selection and that's it. HTH!
Simon teh hey I helped Rekd!!!
Can you upload the file or e-mail it to me, I'll have a look at it because it's hard to answer surfaces questions without seeing it, there's many settings that can affect the result.HTH!

Hi Sam, welcome to the forum, you'll need the solid option to be able to apply tollpaths on a solid model, if you have it, you'll need to tell the system the part is a solid: "toolpath-rough-solid" an then the system extract a temporary profile of your part so you can chain it.HTH

Oh! forgot, personnaly I never used SmartCAM but all the customers that made the switch found it similar so easy to switch but with all kind of enhancements that you can't let go as associativity, flexibility, converters and so on...

I think your best bet is flowline in a case like this, of course if it's 1 surface.I could help more if I'd see the file, can you upload it or feel free to e-mail it!HTH!
Simon!
In the 2nd parameter page of the drill operation, you have drill point x and z you can put in, moving the x will do a boring. Is this what you mean? HTH! Welcome to the forum!

Hi Les, your damn right, can open it in surfaces but not with solids, my system crashes all the time, no problem in V9.0SP1 (surfaces or solid)Sounds like a QC case...Sorry. Maybe bring it in surfaces and convert it to solids.

Esprit for a little over two years Men you deserve a medal, I couldn't work with it more then 2 months. It's frustrating when you take 1 hour to do something that actually takes 5 minutes in MC. MC all the way!!!
