A thing we do here, might look weird, but reverse your spindle and pass an extra fine sand paper on your end mill for a few seconds. Reduce your rpm. there's no speed and feed data for that kind of work, you go with the noise!
HTH!
Simon
Sure create solid next menu from surfaces and uncheck "use all visible surfaces" and click ok and then select the surface you want to turn into a solid sheet. HTH!
Simon
Go to screen configure under NC settings tab, on the bottom left go to operation defaults click on save and then go in the "c" axis lathe toolpaths in cross contour and all what you change there are defaults. HTH!

On the Haas, I made tests yesterday to output "A" axis as inches/min, did the job and also if I output in inverse time do the job, it's just that you'll get values way higher than what you're use to see. Play with your use_frinv and rot_feed and also chage your ctable value (I'm at .1)HTH!

I do edit my code often with M15 (clockwise) and M16 (ccw) to avoid that kind of thing and works great but needs a little editing but quite fast.
Simon
There's OSG who have the shrink fit with all kind of holders for that type of work but you'll pay for it but the thing is... when you use them right, you'll never see the end (of the tool) HTH!
Simon
You shouldn't have any problems, double check if every thing is ok because did this many times and never had any issues with cutter comp. off. HTH!

Believe me Noel I understand you, but the thing is that my decision is taken (last week) I'm going back on the shop floor, actually in the offices but in the shop, I've been working for the MC dealer for 1 1/2 year , had a very good time and learned a lot but need to smell the coolant, as some said before, do what you feel is the best for you, you gotta be happy in what your doing. I know it's embarassing but you'll go through.
Simon:cheers:
Hi David, I've done a trim on your toolpath, it helps a little but I'd like to have some peoples help on 2 boundaries for trimming, has anyone succeed with 2 boundaries? Look at the file POCKET-OPENING-SIMON and try to select the 2 cyan (color 11) boundaries, would be nice if it'd work. HTH!

I'm following a Catia V5 course right now and there's a lot of very nice tools in there and also some glitches, I've never touched UG tough but eard very good stuff on it as some mentionned earlier, they're all good but can't learn them all so you gotta make a choice!
Simon
Welcome to the forum! It won't regen your toolpaths, you'll have to regen them and depending on what type of work you're doing (2D or 3D, there could be some work involved. For 2D a good way to minimize the work is to work with incremental zero depths.HTH!

Used Taegu Tec also with good results in A2 and D2 as Thad (Die making) but need to be careful with the speeds they give in the books are a bit high. Guhring haven't used them but have seen a demo, they seem to be really good tools but pricy.

Hi David, Check in C/Windows/fonts you have 4 ISOCPEUR (reg. an Italic) and also ISOCTEUR. I also sent them to you by mail in case you don't have them.HTH!
P.S. Je viens tout juste de voir ton origine, j'imagine que j'aurais pu t'écrire en français.
