  1. Hey guys, I have a question for you about that (send a request to QC but...) When using a "plunge after 1st move" and having a retract or clearance set it gives a G00 (from retract to feed plane)after the G41 is called, isn't your machine give an alarm by doing a rapid move after a G41 or 42? or you guys set the feed plane to a height of the retract you'd like to have?? Thanks in advance! Simon teh hijacker!
  2. Sorry didn't get it the 1st time, not from what I know, it's the same when you edit holes depth, it keeps asking "apply changes to subsequent planar points?". It can be harassing, your right. Simon
  3. Could you upload, never had any problem. Simon
  4. Sorry Oppiz but from what I know, you'll have to do this every single time. If you do a search I think it was covered before.HTH! Simon
  5. Hi Chris, I've machined A2 and D2 (60-62 rc) a lot and we were using OSG 60deg helix 5 flutes end mill and the chips were flying like if it was soft, full depth of cut but 5% (of tool diam.) for the radial cuts, I was following the feeds and speeds of the book (yes it's true), if I remember good, it was around 60 ft/min and around .001 chip load.HTH! Simon
  6. Have a look at the file again, I used a sweep to do what you wanted ( I hope that's what you want now). If you want to know more in depth what I did, let me know. HTH!
  7. Hi Phil, no not yet, I'll need to have something original. I'll work on that. BTW I haven't forgot you, it's just that we're kinda busy, I made some searches but I think the best way will be to walk around and find a place, anyway all the pubs are on the same street. Sorry for hijacking! Simon
  8. Hi Bob, have a look at the file bbakguitar-simon, what I did is extrude the outside geometry of the B (add boss) and then extrude the 2 inside chains (extrude cut) and that's it. You problem could also be the version of MC your using, I use V9 SP2. HTH! Simon
  9. Hi Rob, for the pin and the wheel, from the side plane rotate and copy 2 times@120 deg, and for the cuts, you have no choice (from what Iknow) to rotate the geometry and redo the extrude cuts. I made it so if you want it the part is in the solid folder: solid tube-simon.HTH! Simon
  10. Hi Rob in the last parameter page put the cutting method to one way and if I understand right what you meant, it's exactly what you want. Have a look at your file with simon extension, should be there in a minute. HTH! Simon
  11. You could also create curves flowline and then you go with number or distance and create some in one way and some across and that should make what you want. The arrow is the way the curves will be.HTH! Simon
  12. +1 Phil, maybe lathe can seem easier to program on the screen but there's so much things to consider like tool position in turret (to make sure they won't crash the part) + you work closer from the chuck so you always ON THE EDGE. Finally I think it's all about being use to it. Just my .02 Simon
  13. It's bad coxy but with my experience, cases like that are painful, because you have vertical walls on the side and the system don't know what to do with these so that's why you get weird result. Sorry but can't help on that one! Simon
  14. Hi Coxy, I'm not Rookie but no there's nothing you need to do before clicking the lines. But as he mentionned, select your X first to get the better result. One more thing would be that your X line should be trimmed where you Y line starts. Maybe not too clear for the last segment but I'm sure you'll get it. Simon
  15. +1 to Matthew and Peter and +1 in my post count!!! Seriously it's really way to go guys!! Simon
  16. Hi Glenn, check your mail. Hope this is what you need! Simon
  17. Hi Glenn, Way to go is Helix bore (toolpath, next menu, circ tlpths, helix bore) is EXACTLY what your asking for. Thats why they call it MASTER... Simon
  18. Hi CMR, little late but I can't regen your operations but if you're not using 9.1 SP2 I had some customers who send me files exactly as you mentionned and I send the files to QC and for me it looks like they fixed it.Are you using 9.1SP2. Simon
  19. Hi David, it's the way MC works, it will jump the previous and the following point you selected. What you could also consider is to use options to make your drill path so you avoid the clampsor whatever. Sometimes it makes a little more travel but still shorter then retracting very high. Maybe you know but when you go to toolpath drill if you go right there in options and unselect all (by clicking on one if activated) the way you'll select your points is exactly the way MC will do them. Can be helpful in some cases.HTH! Simon
  20. Hi Blackie, welcome to the forum I know on Mitsubishi's it's M55 flush on and M56 off and I think it's the same for Fanuc (not sure). That's only what I have to offer.HTH! Simon
  21. Sorry it's not screen statistics, it analyze and select the solid.
  22. Hi Pro, from the main menu go to screen statistics and on the bottom left of your screen if it says open body, it means it's a sheet and solid body, a closed one.HTH! P.S. Still don't get why you definitly want to use chook Simon
  23. quote: these non talented lip-sinkers +1 I was shy for them to lip sing like that and your right, I'm an open mind person but also found it way O/T to see all these girls in underwears like sl*ts in that type of event. Just my 0.02. Simon
