I figured it might be a add-on. Right now the only add-on I have is Moldplus (30-day trial), and it loads fine and shows up in the menu bar.
BTW my re-seller says he gets it too.
X6 was recently installed and seems to load fine, but looking at the "Mastercam Event Log" there are 19 errors, all of them say;
"ERROR(L####,Mastercam.menu): Specific command not found."
(#### = different numbers on each line)
These errors do not show up when running X5.
Any idea on how to fix this?
To cut down on all the small line moves, try using the arc filter\tolerance settings. Specifically set the filter ratio to 2:1 or 3:1 to help cut down on the the posted nc file size. Also turn on arcs (Create arcs in XY...)
One strategy would be to rough with the 2D HS and then have a separate finish toolpath... In some instances a 2D HS has excellent finishes, especially if the stepovers are small.
I usually just offset the wireframe (lines, arcs and\or spines) to manually compensate for the tool. However I did hear that cutter comp will be added to X6 - which is coming out very soon.
I can read those in screen capture, but the in the actual dialog box there are two more options not shown.
\Edit\, you must have been editing the same time I was replying
Ok thanks!
In Gcode's screen shot the last couple of options are not visible. On the visual effects tab, scroll down - there are a few more settings listed. What are the settings for;
Use drop shadows for icon labels and the desktop
Use visual styles on windows and buttons
\Edit
answer found here link
Use Drop shadows ... unchecked
Use visual styles on windows and buttons ... checked
First I would try the filtering settings on the toolpath (as mentioned above). Change Arc Filter / Tolerance, filter ratio, total tolerance, etc...) Try a couple of different settings and view in verify or backplot.
If that doesn't work modify the geometry;
Its hard to tell from that picture, but between each spline you could create a fillet. The fillet would then be tangent to both splines that it touches and should eliminate any segments (facets). The size of the fillet would depend on the the size of the geometry you have and of course the tolerance you must keep.
old topic...
yeah that link was from the old forum and unfortunately the old links didn't convert over when the forum was updated. I'll see if I can find it...
Tried all the suggestions and the mouse still disappears in X5 MU1 - this is when hovering over the bottom status bar, specifically over the color, level, attributes, point style, line style and line width. However when hovering over 2D\3D, Gview, Planes, Z depth, WCS, Groups and "!?" the mouse is visible. A Mastercam restart seems to be the only fix for now.
Erine, I dont know if its a coincidence, but now everytime I open a file that has been saved after having installed the Verisurf add-on I get the following warning when opening a new session of Mastercam;
I noticed that at the end of each line of iCut.nc has;
G01 Z0.000 F300
Maybe this is what keeps the tool down. A simple post modification might be needed to add this after each line or arc move.
I was thinking the same thing until yesterday I saw another programmer here using solid faces for his 2D high speed operations. On his brand new computer it took about 5 mins to calculate. Had he chained a wireframe (lines, arc...) it would have regenerated in seconds.
