Your a genius Chip I don't think so......I wish! I learned from the best out here. There's a lot I learn here just want to give back. Some of these 5 Axis Rocket scientists deserve that credit!

you could set up a Custom drill cycle to do that. You can use the fields under the cycle dropdown for variables to do what you what. +1
Fields??
I don't think custome drill cycles are for that. Mabe, I have set up custome 1 for i.e. a machine that uses tap matic different code and another for standard tap cycles.
Mabe try drilling at different depths i.e. Z-5. G80 Z-6.0 G80 R-4.50 in each cycle.
Oh and G98.

Haas toolroom mills +1
I like the Haas toolroom setup........ I don't use one. I run a 2003 VF-4 daily. I am very impressed with the consistancy of the Haas lately. surfacing, contour boring within tenths. A couple of glitches here and there I hope their working out. For the most part Haas! +1

Our Haas saleman told us that if a Haas retention knob broke that they would fix the spindle for FREE.

Seriously, Haas has some serious issues with this pull stud dilema. I had no idea that so many people had this same problem. I was gonna post the picture of the pull stud.I forgot the Haas tech guy took it to be Rockwell tested.
I am running a Haas VF4 (2003) (we have seven). I left the machine running over night. (finishing some surfaces on a cavity). I got here the next morning........ The pull stud (Haas) broke! Right at the top of the threads. It cost the Company $10,000. The whole spindle assembly comes apart and installed in about a day.
I'm always sticking my head in the machine with the R.P.M.s pegged making sure things match etc.
That is'nt the first pull stud that broke in the shop, we have had some break on tool changes and just sitting in the spindle!
Are'nt Tony Stewart and jeff gordan friends?
I'm down with Joe Gibbs Racing..............I use to build their brakes. About 5 years ago. They run Wilwoods.

I too have heard of the different ways to mix the coolant. We run Cimstar (pink) and have a mixer out of a 55 gal. drum. Every MoldMaker here has his own setup, (computer, machine, workbench) we all change our coolant quite often. It neveeer stinks and the stuff keeps the table from rust pretty well. With all the different setups we do daily. It works bitchen!
