  1. What do you get when you do 'Screen-Statistics' ??
  2. It sounds like your letters might be drafting entities instead of geometry. If that is the case try Modify-Break-DraftLine. HTH
  3. Couple things to try.... 1 - Put the .25 rad on the geometry used to extrude the channel. 2 - Fillet the existing channel but use a .246/.249 fillet rad instead of .250 HTH Welcome to the forum !!
  4. You should have a 'pocket' toolpath in the 'surface toolpaths'. Try that. HTH Good luck .
  5. That's very impressive Steve!! I was wondering if you can get big gains using two hard drives, one disk type and one SSD. Put the OS on the standard disk and Mcam on the SSD. Save the MC files to the std disk. Just curious..... .
  6. You need all three buttons....... It would be worth it for you to buy your own 3 button mouse if the company won't. Talk to them. Good luck & welcome to the forum. .
  7. quote: I Also wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :Big Grin: And Thank you for all your efforts MC little Helpers.... Agree 100%
  8. Hope this helps: check here check here too .
  9. This method below gets a very quick real close approximation of what you want: I Created a Line Tangent thru a Point from one oval to an estimated spot on the second oval. Then Created a 2nd Line tangent thru a Point from the 2nd oval back to the endpoint of the first line on the 1st oval. Not perfect, but very close. If you did it 2 or 3 more times it would be so close it might as well have been calculated out. .
  10. Well, I have looked at your code posted above. 1st question - why 6 place decimals? 4 place should be plenty. 2nd, the Y movements are approx .05, the Z movements are approx .02 - no way you can get a smooth surface with such large movements. Either the total tolerance is way too big or your models surface is not smooth. At this point I think you should call in your reseller to go over this problem with you. Something is wrong. Sorry to not be more help.
  11. And don't forget Create point dynamic - you can place points anywhere you want on the first surface, then project normal to the second surface. HTH
  12. How about a Santa ?? Or a snowman ?? You would get a LOT of interest with this: . . . . . . . . . .
  13. Why not 'project' a point onto both surfs and measure the dist between them??
  14. Here are some fun sites - fonts, etc. www.cooltext.com/ www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=111 All kinds of models... www.digitaldreamdesigns.com/3DModels.htm Gotta check out this page www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=718 .
  15. Is the parallel toolpath running in a 0, 90, 180, or 270 deg direction ??? The arc filter for XZ or YZ only creates arcs in those planes. HTH
  16. Sorry, No real simple way - just have to work it out.
  17. shimm... do you have Solids ?? Also what version of MC are you using. If you have solids - extrude the rectangle and just Chamfer the 3 edges - very quick.... HTH
  18. David, that looks like the warning when trying to save to a 'read only' file. Any chance the file is 'read only' ??
  19. Many of the forum members have and like Solidworks. Do a search for 'Solidworks', you will find many comments. My preference is to use Rhino3D in conjunction with MC. I have need for more 'flowing' or 'organic' surfaces. And it's good for reverse engineering. HTH
  20. Hi Barry Activate the window you want to copy - type 'alt - Print screen'. 'Edit - Paste' into Paint or other graphics program (I use Irfanview), adjust size to about 600 pixels wide. 'Save As' screenshot.jpg Upload to a web site like Photobucket. Copy the Direct Link URL from Photobucket. In the Full Reply Form on Emastercam click on 'Image' and paste in the URL. That's it !! HTH
