  1. Peon, I've also come across this however, if I remember correctly, it's only an issue with the stl preview. Your rest rough op should still work properly. Neil.
  2. Verify only outputs STL and there's not a lot you can do with those as you've noticed. Other than sending them the model you programmed off of, I can't think of any other way unless you want to spend some money and convert the STL to surfaces but I hear the results are not that great and can be time consuming. Neil.
  3. Hadn't heard that, thanks for sharing.
  4. Welcome to the forum Maria, Go to Help, About. This will show the build date. Click details, this shows version info. Neil.
  5. Is your geometry being brought in as a group/result color? To check, go to screen, clear colors. I believe there is a setting to disable this action. Neil.
  6. quote: 2)2.24 min plugged in. Macbook Pro 2.6 hz 4 gigs ram running XP pro 32 bit in bootcamp graphics are 8600 gt Something doesn't sound right.....are you sure?????
  7. Good point, no it's not connected to the internet.
  8. SOLVED!!! Thanks for your help with this guys. I needed to change some of the group policies on the computer, here's what worked: Use the built-in XP Group Policy editor (gpedit.msc) and locate the Computer ConfigurationWindows SettingsSecurity SettingsLocal PoliciesSecurity Options branch. Make sure to disable the following policies: "Domain Member: Digitally encrypt or sign secure channel data (always)" "Domain Member: Digitally sign secure channel data (when possible)" "Domain Member: Digitally encrypt secure channel data (when possible)" and use the built-in XP Group Policy editor (gpedit.msc) and locate the Computer ConfigurationAdministrative TemplatesSystemUser Profiles branch. This is described in Microsoft's Technet Q327462. Make sure to enable the following policy: "Do not check for user ownership of Roaming Profile Folders" Hope this helps someone out. Neil.
  9. Steve@Cimco, thanks for your suggestions. Yes, I can access the shared folder from other computers on the network. Firewall is turned off. Can you elaborate on the "user set" on the XP machine? FWIW, we do run Cimco DNCMAX for our VMC's
  10. Steve Hattori, we're running a TOS HMC. I did talk to them a few years ago when I was setting up the old computer but if I recall correctly, they didn't seem to be much help back then. As for NX6, I've only been using it a couple of weeks now but I'm really starting to like it. We skipped NX5 so it took some getting used to, mostly with the way the dialogue boxes look. Some areas they've added more mouse clicks (ex: placing points in a sketch, you have to click apply after placing each one, ARGHH!!), other areas have been streamlined. Probably the most important new feature for us (which was added in 5.02) is the new and long overdue hole series. If this works as well as I hope it does, this will save us hours!
  11. Hi Josh, I can TNC remote to upload but I find it's one less step if I just post the program to my computer and when the operator needs the program it's listed in his control under my networked drive. There is no software to setup, it's settings inside the control. Neil.
  12. Hi, I'm trying to mount some network drives in our iTNC530 control. I mounted a drive that's located on a Windows 2000 computer with no problems but I can't seem to get the one with windows XP to work. I can ping the computer and see the shared folder from other computers. Any ideas??? Thanks, Neil.
  13. Click the first op you want, move your mouse to the last op you want, press and hold the shift key and left mouse click. This will select everything in between and including the ops you selected. [ 02-04-2009, 08:45 AM: Message edited by: neil qwerty ]
  14. Check out verisurf: verisurf
  15. I agree with Colin, no easy (or cheap) way to do it. If you're using X3, you can bring your stl file in as a mesh as opposed to triangles, then at least you'd be able to see what the mold components look like. HTH, Neil.
  16. Thanks for your input guys! I'll have a look at the 1401 parameter tomorrow. I realise I could have my program retract to completly clear the part, I'm just trying to avoid wasted time in my program. Neil.
  17. Thanks for you reply Josh, the control def is already set up to break the rapid moves. The program retracts first then moves in x and y. The problem lies in the control somewhere, it took the one x and y move and broke that into two pieces.
  18. Hi, we have an OKK660 with a Fanuc 16m control. We broke a cutter on the weekend because the control made a change to a rapid move. The cutter lifted to the correct z position and instead of going directly to the next x,y position it appears as though it moved on a 45 degree angle first (this is where it crashed) before going to it's intended destination. I'm assuming it's some type of parameter setting in the control. Anybody have any ideas?? Thank, Neil.
  19. ALT-P turns posting(the ghost symbol) on or off. If it's ghosted, Mastercam will ignor that operation when you post it. Neil. Damn that frog types fast!!
  20. No problem here, but we're running xp sp2. Anybody try this on xp sp3 yet?
  21. If you hold the shift key down while you click on a point, this activates the relative entry field.
