I took your file and mod.
loaded back to the FTP site ander canned2
I changed your tool paths as well the ref. points and the Lead In/Out values
Moved your solid to a diferent level
re-do your drilling cycle with out using your points and the center line
I did it in a hurry hope it help
Normaly I would have my Z0 at the front face of the part
I belive I got the weire moves becouse you have it on the back face and it load my defaul setting when I opened your file
Happy Anniversary big E:cheers:
Thank you In-house
Thanks Jay for your FTP site!!!
Thanks to all of you for sharing your knowledge
That is priceless!!!!
I'm a rooki using mastercam but this forum save my A$$ more then once.
Great Forum!!! Great people!!
Thee
Disable stock recognition – The roughing toolpath is computed as if the stock does not exist. You must chain the outer boundary for roughing between boundaries.
Regen or backplot switching between the 3 options (Use stock for outer boundary, Extend contour to stock only and disable stock recognition)
it will be easy to see than explain what it does.
Thee check your e-mail!
I would do it that way
I added a reference point (approach and retract).
I added a leadIn/Out.
I changed the Plunge Parameter to plunge cutting that allow the tool do the under cut.
And selected disable sotck recognition.
Hope this help you!!!
I Know you want precision!
Just want to make sure you didn't
fail to notice or consider the metric sizes
8mm = 0.3150
10mm = 0.3937
by 24.1 square
Just a thought
My share went thru

Don't forget the infeed angle some times that help to control the burr direction
I prefer use the multiple threading cycle
(G76 or G71 on okumas)
Fanuc has six kinds of infeed-angle 80, 60, 55, 30, 29, and 0
Okuma has only 3 infeed patterns cut on front face of the thread, zig-zag and rear face of the thread
Some times I rough the thread relif, run the threading cycle, finish the thread relif, run finish profile and re-run the thread cycle at full depth you add a few second to the cycle time but the deburring goes away.
I also use the full profile insert
(Like the NTC from Kennametal each insert is for a specific TPI)
they take care the deburring on the crest of the thread
I run the final tool again (just to deburr the fist and last lead of the thread)and re-run the threading cycle at full depth
FYI
If I don't mistaken
I belive the Cimco is going to be drop as the "official" Editor when they relese the X version.
I heard it on the mastercam user group
Brendan
You probably know this but just a reminder
When you flipped the X
You also need to change G03 to G02 and G02 to G03
Plus need to flipped the sign of the I value.
The easiest way I have found to make a similar tool is Main menu > NC utilities > Def tools > library. Open a tool in the library of your choice, edit whatever you want to, then hit save to library. This will make a new tool with the changes you made.
The define tool page will still be open, hit cancel. This will leave the original tool parameters alone.
Now you have 2 tools, 1 that was the original and 1 that you just modified.
or
Open the tool library
Hi-lite tool to be copied
while holding down [Ctrl] and hit "C" then "V"
Tadaaaaaaaa. An exact copy is made.
Lathe custom tool geometry rules:
There must be separate planar closed boundaries for the insert and holder drawn in the Top view.
The boundaries must consist of lines and arcs only.
The insert and holder geometry must be different colors.
There must be no other geometry in the file.
