  1. -------------------------------------------------- they should have a HOTTIE bending over a cnc with X g string panties on and it could say X rated !!! -------------------------------------------------- Yeah!!!!! I second that
  2. Don S. I did the something as JG Different plunge cut parameter, different radius, and different insert (80deg for roughing & 35deg for finish) It works fine no error (If you use an 80deg insert and set your plunge cut parameter to no plunging allowed and try to finish with a 35deg insert even do the insert might have clearance to do an under cut The tool will follow the no plunging allowed profile from the roughing pass.)
  3. The same as stated above Using ver 9.1 MR0304 ------------------------------------------ "Unfortunity (SP?) I do not have access to v9 here." ----------------------------------------- Tell me what post I need to use and I e-mail you the results
  4. The zip file is located in the unspecified_uploads folder Welcome to the forum!!! Thank you!!
  5. ---------------------------------- When I first started working here I had never seen an Okuma before and I HATED the controls at first because they are considerably different that Yasnac / Fanuc / Haas structure controls [we have all of those here, too]. Now if I had my choice of lathes [which I pretty much do] I would not buy any other machine tool than an Okuma; the controls are very powerful and easy to understand once you get used to them, the machines are powerful, fast, rigid, and deadly accurate and NEVER have maintenance issues Okuma ROCKS!!! ----------------------------- same apply to me!!! 100% We have lb15's , LC30's MC40H's and MC3VA's Variables are great Love Okuma!!!
  6. ------------------------------------ Is anybody here successfully using it? I'm running it in V9.1MR0304. ---------------------------------- Mine runs fine using V9.1-MR0304 $L1234.MIN% (DATE JUL -09 -04 ) (PROG. 7. Martin Andrew is right you need to use a 3/4-16 STI tap(also called helicoil tap)(of course is not the regular 3/4-16 tap) you need a tapped hole for a 3/4/16 helicoil insert, some time later somebody has to insert the 800 helicoil inserts into the tapped holes once the insert is assembled, it accomodates any standart male threaded bold or screw (MIL-S-7742 and MIL-S-8879 controlled radius) Need to know what type of insert will be using. the class of fit goes by the letter "H"
  8. CNC you're right both of them has the X+ direction towards the spindle Randy has an ID rough and Chris has an OD rough Randy like chris said do you need to lines of code for your rough cycle? this is an ID rough mori SL5 yasnac (X+ away from the spindle) G0X0.715Z1.0M8 Z0.1 G71U-100W30I-100K60F.005P51Q52D1800 N51G0X1.175 G1Z0 X1.120 X0.750Z-.380 Z-0.400 N52X0.715
  9. If you expect to find a ranger adjustable support blade with the radial clearence MC don't have in the library. Use an external right hand holder for id-face grooving or external left hand holder for od-face grooving and select the insert GFR- (square) or GFR- (full radius) they're in the libry as long as you have the right insert the holder is not that important (in MC). Of course you need the right support blade on the machine and set it up for your plunge dia. hope this help and make sense to you.

  12. sorry stock position should be a minus value (- OAL)over all length like I said the post take care the Z+, G02 to G03, G03 to G02 and the K+
  13. Travis, What Colombiano said is Ok but why to deal with the sign after posting (Colombiano arriba Cali, Cali es la berraquera) The post should take care the sign, G02& G03 All I need to do is the stock transfer I tried different ways doing the transfer but the simple one for me is the following parameters set level optiones Stock position (type the OAL of the part) Turn on the Construction Origin & Too origin with a value of Zero All the rest of the values should be zero, all of them Select the geometry to be trasfer It transfer the back face of the part to the right side of the Z0 Hope it make sense
  14. Travis We have a Takisawa TM20 lathe w/Fanuc OT-B 3axis 2 spindle single turret We machine from bar stock We machine the front side then synchronous both spindles clamp in a machined dia with the sub-spindle jaws, pull the bar then part it off Send the sub-spindle home then do the 2nd side to complete the part If this is what you want I can send you one of the MC files. Regarding the post, the whole part off sequence has been mod. By Glenn Stephens All I need is answer these questions start dia (part-off) end dia (part-off Length of the part Start RPM The post takes care the rest. 15. works fine for me The link is working fine
  16. Suggustion on drawing the tool: (some body wrote them before) Select a holder that has (roughly) the dims needed for the job. Click on 'Draw Tool' and select 'File Save' from the screen menu. Select the insert you want and a holder that holds it in the correct position. Click on 'Draw Tool' and select 'File Save' Merge the two files, delete the lines that you don't need. save it as the .MC9 file that your custom tool is based on. make sure you have: Insert corner radius Insert width for grooving/parting tools. Compensation type some Lathe custom tool geometry rules: There must be separate planar closed boundaries for the insert and holder drawn in the Top view. The boundaries must consist of lines and arcs only. The insert and holder geometry must be different colors There must be no other geometry in the file. It works for me every single time
  17. Good morning all We have a CHNC Hardinge w/Fanuc 10T We don't use the FAPT I have the FAPT programming guide It’s about 60pages I'll fax you the first 5pages Let me know if that is what you need I'll fax the rest. Cleme
  18. Nadeem I believe Chris is right The Okuma post in the V9.1 CD is the closes the M Potter is going to get. We have a lathe LB15 beside others Okuma and we started with the MPLOKUMA from version 9.1 for our lathe post and after a few tweaks it works the way we liked included all the canned cycles M Potter Like Jay said if you don't have the CD get a hold of your dealer and ask for it! Cleme
  19. Hi Chris The only thing a saw was your reference points for approach and retract I changed D to 3.1 (.100 below id)and Z to +1.115 (.100 in front of the part) on absolute for both moves It works fine. Clement Cobos
  20. Thaks to Iska posted Nov-12-03 ------------------------------------ You can configure autobackup settings in screen->config . I always save to the different name like c:mastercamrestorebackup.mc9 every 10 minutes . And there exists a Vbscript for incremental backuping that I linked on my Mastercam to F12 button (very handy)! Use a search forum to find it . Very cool ! ---------------------------------- I have been doing this since Nov. mastercam defaul to backup.mc9 every 10 min. and after each operation F12 to a diferent directory same name save me more then once one more time Thank you Iska Rafael
