  1. I "Hardmill" steel every day in the 48-50 Rc Range and occasionally 60-62. When you get above 59, it is a whole different animal. I would do like Del suggested and wire cut them (if possible) or cut 'em off with an abrasive wheel and leave grind stock. I kinda feel sorry for you a little bit

  3. I always use Points for threadmilling geo, that way it opens another field for you to type in a diameter. I got used to doin that in earlier versions before the "Overcut" option then you didn't have to manually change your circle geo, you could just type in a different dia in the threadmill parameters page. Overcut option does away with that, but its just habit for me to pick points now......guess its burned in my little brain
  4. You would buy everyone on the forum a lobster dinner NOT to refer JB

  10. I dont think ssd's will help me much at all. It would be hard to shell out that kinda coinage for milliseconds. Cant remember exactly but I was around 18 seconds on the benchmark edit: Jeremy, Here are my specs: Dell Precision T7500 Workstation Dual Quad Core Intel® Xeon® Processors X5550 2.66GHz,8M L3,6.4GT/s,turbo Memory 4GB, DDR3 RDIMM Memory,1333MHz, ECC (4 DIMMS) 1.5GB NVIDIA® Quadro® FX 4800, DUAL MON, 2DP & 1DVI Boot Hard Drive 300GB, 3.0Gb/s, SAS, 3.5 inch, 15K RPM Hard Drive Hard Drive Configuration C21 All SAS drives, RAID 1, 2 drive total configuration 2nd Hard Drive 300GB, 3.0Gb/s, SAS, 3.5 inch, 15K RPM Hard Drive Hard Drive Internal Controller Option PERC6/i SAS/SATA Hardware RAID Card [ 05-27-2010, 03:39 PM: Message edited by: Keith Horton from Murray Mold & Die ]
  11. nVidia Quadro will be the best, but don't know specifically if they make one for your HP. I know they do for Dell's You might wanna do a search for a quadro for HP HTH P.S. welcome to the forum
  12. Years ago we had a hyundai with an 840D and the ONLY way to transfer programs was with a poorly translated german(?) software called PC-IN But IIRC you could still only send and not recieve, but again this was 1999
  13. Yes, go into the machine type dropdown and select "Manage list" and select the machine and then select "Remove" HTH
  14. You could do that with a "Point" Toolpath by creating points at your different "Z" depths
  15. Glad to share. I also do what Bryan Johnson said and de-select "Peck drill" in the machine def and have it post out long-hand code when I do deep drilling with 2 or more drills. I then change the 1st feed block to F50. so it will feed faster to the first depth and then below it change the feed back to the posted feed and it will start pecking at posted feed. HTH also
  16. After you set your peck depths in the custom drill drop down, and the values that are grayed out will be visible and you can change them but DO NOT use custom drill cycles. Go back to your drop down and select Peck Drill again. The values will be grayed out but will be changed to .55, .015, .015
