  1. We have a solution for this and you should give our product a try. Email me and I will have someone contact you about it if you are interested.
  2. Well since I am not getting much response to this I am starting off on my own to see where it gets me. I have made up the tool bars. I have made a toolbar state for such and I am now testing on different computers to see what happens. I will post up my results. Colin, I am going to talk to our developers and see what they say. Thanks.
  3. Ok can I make my own toolbar state. Do I have to make a Custom .mtb file to send to customers or do I have to include it with our install in the config folder so they can then call it up from the customize screen???
  4. With Hole axis you can make this process much faster. We can use solids or surfaces to create the Point and the Line. You can set the line above or below the point. The point come from the center of the cylinder, it can be an offset with a set amount. You also have the Circle option where you create a circle for the Hole you are using as well. On the Mastercam Programming side I use this tool all the time. On the Verisurf side of things we use this tool a lot as well. 5. Can some tell me how to make the install load certain tool bars for our features? We have an install for our product, but would like to have certain tool bars of ours load up up to access features. I am making a toolbar state for Verisurf that I think we might email to all of our customers to do it for them, but I would like to know if we can do something in the install to get this done for us. Thanks for any suggestions, ideas, or tips.
  6. Josh how are you guys coming up with your port information. With Reverse from Verisurf you can scan your Data into Verisurf from a ARM or CMM and make a point cloud do your mesh surface. From there you can then create a surface or an STL that is machinable in Mastercam. If you download our ADD-ON samples are loaded so you can see what we can do. Go to your MCX folder then to Reverse Samples and you will see a Multi Surface then we have the Manifold Points.MCX file. Go into the reverse tab then on the mesh right click and go to export. Then from there you can export to cad and this will make an STL file that Mastercam can machine. We have ways of making surface from Reverse as well that can be smoothed out and look very nice. If you have time on your Demo. Go to the 6th icon in reverse and it is called multi-surface. Then make surface the outside box and inside circle are Red. Then pick the Mulit-surface. This will create a very nice surface. Depending on your tolerances you can make it a fine or as course as you would like. I hope that gives you something to see where we can offer you something to help that process.
  7. Anything I can do just let me know. We have a lot of tools inside of the software. Reports are easily done and if you look in the drop down we have AS9102 forms. If you need to run the NIST test for Boeing just let me know and I can walk you through it. The documentation is very helpful and we also have a lot of examples you can use to help you get things figured out. Again anything just email me or call into the office.
  8. Can you tell me what version of Verisurf you are running? Look at the top of the screen it will tell you. Also can you get to measure, analysis, build without it asking you for codes? Email me any questions you have and I will do my best to help you out. I would recommend you get on current maintenance and get the Version for X3 it has a lot of upgrades and if you guys are using Mastercam X you will find it cumbersome to go back to V9 for Verisurf. You can call the office and talk to Vicki about getting a quote. Our Website is in my Profile. HTH
  9. FYI for those that use STL's and load either of these Add-ons. To get Mastercam STL's you need to go to the Reverse tab. Right click on the Mesh, Export, and then Export Cad. This is make a machinable and use able Mastercam STL. Currently when this is loaded it becomes a Verisurf STL that is not seen by Mastercam. HTH
  10. Here are the links for the ADD-ONS for Mastercam for those versions. Verisurf Add-on X2MR2SP1 Verisurf Add-On X3 You can demo them complete for 30 Days. Take a look at the MBD. It can read all the MBD information in from a Catia Model if you have the Translators installed. You can use any of the MBD stuff for 30 days. Also the reverse stuff is great. When you verify an operation. Make an STL. Then in the Reverse you can make machinable surfaces from that STL to use for the next operation in Mastercam. IN Mastercam you can make that surface into a Sheet Solid and then use that for the Solid Layout for Set-up sheets/Os sheets or many other things. HTH and have a good day.
  11. No it will not work for these Versions. Sorry.
  12. Ted can you email me with some specifics about your machine, Renishaw Head you are using, and idea of things you guys are looking to do with your machine??? I appreciate anything you can send my way.
  13. Doug thanks for the information. Guys keep the ideas coming I am all ears.
  14. Steve send me an email with things you would like to see if you do not mind. That goes for any other members that have Verisurf and have things they would like to see with regards to machine probing. Thanks.
  15. Yes will be part time. I still have my other job, just be working at Verisurf for 2 days a week. Many hats are fun in life makes it interesting.
  16. There has been some discussion about this. When things get hammered out I will let you know. For now it is handled inside of the post, but it is lacking needed things for the operations at best.
  17. Ok I dont want to start a trend like this. You sometimes do things and wonder if they are right or worng I guess on this one I need to say what does it really matter in the grand skem of things. Look I have already posted 50 in 3 days so at this rate will be there again. So I will say hey I am human and did the wrong thing here and if it possible put everything back on the old account I will go back to it tommorrow. Appericate everyone's thoughts on this and feel very humlbled by the people here and glad to be in the compnay of such intellegent people with such great ideas to share. Crazy Millman
  18. Glad to have it send it my way I will put it to good use Crazy Millman
  19. Harryman are you using high helix or slow helix for doing it. I also find that if dont give yourself good chip evacuation it causes alot of problems when cutting 304. I would maybe decrease my depth of cut and then increase my feed load per tooth. I like to have it at like .005 to as high as .009 per tooth. I would problay look at how you are holding your part keeping any vibration out of them also how much you have sticking out of the holder if you are cutting .5 deep I would get a stub endmill and have .6 sticking out. I am sure you have thought of all of that just throwing it our there. I use to run as high as 150 sfm of Tialn endmills. If you are looking at inserted tools I had good result with inserts that had postive rake and no coolant. If using facemills I like the Mil-Tec line here is the link:Mil-Tec Cutters Good Luck I hope that helps. One other thing if using uncoated and coolant then I would kick my mixture up to like 20% to 30% for good lubircation. If you have not cleaned out your tank in a while get some baking soda 1 cup to one gallon and use it to clean it out to kill most of the bacteria. If you coolant has not been changed in more than 6 months it can effect your cutting.
  20. Harry not a waste of time I have enjoyed this thread alot I miss the Mazaks though everyone think I am Crazy for that. I think it will be easy to do in 3 axis stuff but any Mulitaxis how easy will it be? Crazy Millman
  21. Would like to create a variable pitch thread with a helical pattern across the dia. Or we could create you some helical slots for engagement across a Cam. We do alot of Prototypes and veyr complex 3d surfaces so if you want a good all around program that is easy to learn and use then look at Mastercam. Our Web Site needs to be updated will talk to IT about that. Think you will find some really good and knowlegable people in here that can help you in many ways. Crazy Millman
  22. Have you looked at what Gisom has out there here is a link to the one he has: Gismo's Setup Sheet Hope that helps Crazy Millman
  23. What is your post and from what I can see it has something to do with the amount fo material sticking out of the check in x whcih would be the diameter. I am sorry I dont have lathe only mill so maybe one ofthe other will shed some better light I suggest telling us the post and give an example of a program and a posted program on the FTP so they can dive into it and really give you soem good insight. Good Luck Crazy Millman
  24. Well I wil throw this example out there and you make what you will out of it. I was doing 440 ss casting with 1" deep by 10" dia worth of material out of 4 faces on a square casting for a agaitator hug. I was going through about (10) 1/2" Carbide endmills flooding it with collant. I use to do anywhere from 4 to 10 casting at a time. My tool bill alone per part for them was $325 a part. I hated it I tried everyone's uncaoted endmill and coated Tin endmill about the same results. I then got the fullerton TIALN 3/4 3 Flute Carbide endmill. I then used only a mister with no coolant just for air to keep chips off the part. I paid $85.00 for the tool and was able to do 4 hubs with one and cut 3 hours each off the job. Same results when cutting s-7 and a-2 tool steel for die blades. Run Tialn dry the coolant creates thermal shock that is to much and causes stress fractures which fatiuge the tools. Just my 2 cents Crazy Millman [ 09-17-2003, 10:39 PM: Message edited by: Crazy Millman ]
  25. Marc would that be in the TXT for the mill9. I am going to take a look I have change my cplane second meun to include bottom and right views and I think it soemthign there yo can change. Crazy Millman
