Well my experience was that we had our replaced after 9 months for a new one and they still had trouble with that one after i left of cousre that has been a while ago so I am sure they have fixed alot of the problems we had.   4. CMR kick that bad boy up to like 2400 sfm with .012 to .02 per tooth feed step-over of 75%. I know the fadal will grunt if I try it but since I keep hearing from the sales guy it is twice the machine of Fadals should be no problem. Let me know how it goes. I am really looking at the VF3 SS for something down the road.   5. Hey Rekd could you accomplish the same task with Transform. Then using the only transform toolplane like pic's shown: I dont understand why when I put 8 it only did 7 different fixture offsets. I also had to put soemthing for a shift even though it doesnt really shift the posted program. Here is the code I produced from that: code: % O0900 (T) (MASTERCAM - V9.)   6. Well I have decided to be a brace soul. I think I can talk my wife into it. I am going to become a certifed Vbasic person. I have looked inot night classes and If I take the classes i can get the whole Vbasic software for a big discount. I have played with alot of the scripts I have got off or here and they are very cool I understand the code somewhat but want to know more it is all your fault REKD . I will keep everyone posted on my progress and when in about a years I think I can contribute I hope to be too. Crazy Millman

I have only done things I need to make post I need work I have only need posts for 3 different machines to James is the Man when it comes to post around here. Crazy millman Probaly not good advice on the problem you have here but will leave it up for other people to may have a different idea on soemthing to try.
  8. Well I wish him luck on the corporate thing we just went through that with a product I have designed. Still waiting for the shoe to drop on that. I was niether upset or made mad about his comments just felt there is always many ways to get a point across there is the direct way there is the indirect way. It is always easy to jump on a point that is negative verses one that is postive in the ideas that a person has. I merly pointed out a statment to his statement. In no way did I imply that he's wrong to do it a certain way. I was in that 10 percent that used left hand tools but I also found that when doing production runs that envloved right hand threads and I always liked cutting them from front to back not back to front it would keep from changing spindle speeds since I ran it balls to the wall smoking and belling the machine point I always ran people out of the building. It is not a scary thought just one of them things you see like people who still only run Highspeed tooling in CNC mills. I might get people who only do this to think about doing it differently by showing them a better way not a way that pushs it to the point of scracism. Again just my 2 cents worth Crazy Millman

I apperciate it Hardmill but happy being a memeber not on here for any glory I have just found this a great place since I am on the other side of the country with no friends out here and not knowing anyone this has just been a good place to come to. I have been on the internet so long and I am so use to it that I could care less. I have been around computers so much that I met my wife in Brazil over 6 years ago on the internet in the IRC(interntet relay chat) Rooms before there was forums and all of that JAZZ and been married to her for over 5 years. I can remember doing the old telnet Hyperterminal TXT only internet. It was cool doing anymonuos logins into just about every computer on the networks.   10. The bounding Box also works godo with the true type fonts. I just like the way they look and when doing them as a raised ot recessed they give very good rexxxxs. Crazy Millman

Heavy Great product I really like the track fro putting DRo cables in one a Horitinal or Long lathe to keep cables from getting messed upI have put them on three machine and had very good results with their products.   12. Spas I think if you make a more spefic idea of what you are exactly looking to do. Simple 2d designs or 3d super complex parts. Are the rims going on a motorcycles that can be depp or deep dish 24" rims on a $100,000 Lexus. Another suggestion on tool paths if simple 2d contours is to do pocket and grab all the chains around the part. If doing 3d complex surface I might think about surface/rough/pocket/sprial or highspeed. I like the scallop for creating the finish you are looking for. Tools are dependent on quanity, and lengths of reach and depth of cut. If doing production a crazy thought is an inserted drill and do surface/rough/plunge get most of the material out in a hurry. Or surface/rough/pocket with a single button or dual button with a 5 to 10 degree ramp angle start. If olny doing one or 2 carbide enmill all the way can get the one with a 6" to 8" over all length but only a standard length of cut. Well good Luck Crazy Millman

  14. ++ on thin bit I would look at a unverisal holder that can work left and right they work great for either side you decide you want to go with for on the CNC or Conventional. I have used them on everything from toolstell to teflon. They also offer coatings but you normally have to wait for that. Good Luck think you are on the right track. Crazy Millman
  15. Connormac James will tell you there is a way to do this with misc or reals I do not know personally how to do it. I will suggest this that you take the post save it and the TXT files as a new name. Then play with the code the way you like and then go from there. It would probaly be good if I understand you correct that you dont use G41 or G42 you use the G8 P1 then just change the defintion to such in the post. code: scc0 G40 #Cancel cutter compensation scc1 G41 #Cutter compensation left scc2 G42 #Cutter compensation right You would want to look like this code: scc0 G08 P0 #Cancel cutter compensation scc1 G08 P1 #Cutter compensation left scc2 G08 P1 #Cutter compensation right I dont know if this is what you are looking for which I think you aren't. Then I suggest you call your dealer cause I think what you are after is envloved. Good Luck Crazy Millman
  16. So Thad I assume you are running the face mills with postive rake inserts and no coolant. I think you have got good advice from the others as far direction goes. I have used Mil-Tec for years and some people like them some people dont. I have to agree it all has to do with the machine the holder the amount of tool sticking out of the shell mill holder and such. I think you will find if you go to the small chip load that you can increase the surface speed to as much 900 sfm and even though you are not taken the same depth if can sometimes be faster cause you gain it back the speed of the cut verse the depth. It is good to take care of faemills and not beating them to death which also beat your machine to death. Good Luck Crazy Millman
