  1. Thnaks Jimmy and Roger that gives me some ideas. I am wondering can you combine a set and pst into one thing and get a posted program as well as a set-up sheet from one action or is this too much to try to do at one time. Crazy Millman
  2. +1 to Thad It works great if you want to be more sepfic you can take to 6 places and if it really a long part then then this helps. Crazy Millman
  3. Well Harryman I dont know about the intregrex wit hthe paramters but I have played with me share of them on VTC and QT lathes. I think you are on the right path another trick I use to do when checking these problems was taking a indicator and checking that it stops in the same place everytime. I have found that if you adjust the parameters on the gain that it tweaks these little things. I have had problems with axis not lineing up properly when doing 4th axis stuff so if some of the aixs have these controls they might need ot be tweaked to make it run a little more precise. Might talk to the mazak guys about that and see what they think. The Thrust bump is like a release of engery that bulids up in the spindle so even though for sake of topic you should go 1200 degree in rotation to tap the hole. Well the controller may tell the spindle to travel 1250 degrees to make it do the 1200 this would in essesnce create a excess travel for amount called but really only have traveled the distance wanted. When you back out of the hole this is like a release of the extra power need to get to that point. If the motor is powerful enough then this difference may only need to be 10 degrees to achieve this amount. This if you were to take a meter and look at the exact amount power at each point then it shows up really good like a chart. I only talk about the gain because from what I remember it had to do with the power being sent to the spefic places on each axis or spindle. Well good luck I hope I have explained that correct. 4. Hey that is the way it all looks to me cuase I have dislexie. I have to really slow down when I write and type of I put letter of words all over the place. But yeah that was easier for me to read than normal words lol. Crazy Millman
  5. Hey Trevor I lived in Florida for over 31 years and that storm is nothing to play with people will die and people will lose alot. If you live within 20 miles of the beach Pack up and get the hell out of dodge. I have seen many think they will brave one out this seem like one not to brave out. Get some duck tape and tape all your windows up and get all your stuff up in the air if in a flood plain. My prayers and wishes for things not to be bad go to all that is going to be effected by the storm. Crazy Millman hope the heaven dont open up and drop to much down. PS: Trevor I have friends that surfed Dora on 7th street at the Beach when it came through, Had other friends that went to Miami to help restore power when Andrew came through it was a bad as they showed on TV. 6. Matt I am sorry Man you have my prayers and sympathies from over this way. If there anything I can do to help you call me I'll come by after work. Crazy Millman aka Ron Branch
  7. Hey Chris M the Mazaks alos had this in the operation. I cant rememeber the name but can tell you the keystrokes to get ot it. It would not alone d othe ref but also gave you control points in a deep cavity toolpath say 12 to 14 deep you could pick a point in z then pick a point to rapid to inside the part then to outside the part. Not much different than the ref point but maybe usefull to people who dont use it and have Mazaks with the Mazatrol functions. Crazy millman
  8. Yes Bobby Jack this goes back to people who only use the WCS to d othis i dont I always copy my part inforamtion into every rotation angle then label all of my operation for each tool that works on each angle take some more times but not had any problems doing it this way. You can easliy create a file that is your tombstone then everytime you bring a new part use that as a template t olocate parts on it will save you laot of time down the road. Crazy Millman May the Mastercam force be with you.
  9. These are very simple post mods go inot your post and change these values to stop that only problem is if you do 4th axis then you will want to do it a different way which is change the post to not output the brake codes. As with anything invovling posts always make a back up and do all post mods checking yourself along the way. 1st way no 4th axis: code: 1) Disable 4 axis by setting the numbered question 164. to 'n'. 2nd way is go to this place in the program and take them out if you dont want the 4th axis to stop everytime then you can use the cantext for output when you want the brake codes just have to change this information in the cantext area: code: pindex #Index output if index & rot_on_x, [ if fmtrnd(indx_out) <> prv_indx_out, [ n, *sbrakeoff, e indextest = 1 ] pbld, n, indx_out, e if indextest = 1, n, *sbrakeon, e !cabs, !cinc indextest = 0 ] then take out the *sbrakeoff and *sbrakeon making sure to make it look like these in this places even the space is important. code: n, e if indextest = 1, n, e This will post it with no A60 or A61 from now on. I would get in the dissucsion about mulit post for the no N line or have 2 post one for each machine done the way you like. I would think about contacting my dealer and get better ways to do what you want mine are not correct but work. Good Luck Crazy Millman [ 09-17-2003, 04:06 PM: Message edited by: Crazy Millman ]
  10. Hey Rekd could you just put different program numbers in your operations. Thne in your post get the varaible that looks at program numbers to stop the program output at every new program number. Kinda like a sub but using the post to see the different program numbers in each op then complete each operation as a whole and complete nc program yet still post it all out at the same time. I think James will probaly have a better idea who t odo it than me. I have used the tranform with different part to get the sub to work but have not tried what you are thinking sound very slick though. Crazy Millman
  11. Noel Give multiaxis a shot with flow 5ax then only use 4th axis as a control. I do veraible pitch threads using the 4th axis and contuor the whole thread using a flat endmill and this helped me out when I got stuck doing it the way you were long code. Also just about all 5 axis toolpaths have a 4th axis option this will works with inderxer just have to get a good post to do it is all. I would have my reseller contact James he is the man when it come to really good functional post around here. Good Luck Crazy millman
  12. T@T@LO Mine are set as such wit hthe machine which is a P4 3.06 mhz 1 gig with a 256 mb video card. 32000 32000 500 200000 200000 this gives me 427 mb for mastercam and I push it to the limits and back. Hope that helps Good Luck Crazy Millman
  13. Dan M had in his post this comment: quote: If anyone could shed some light on this subject I would appreciate it. So Peter we took it as he was asking in such a way as to what we thought was good either or and what we did was to point out good reasons for either way or it was attempted by me. I just felt like it was not needed to do so in a negative way for explainations and refering to things that go on with such points as to possible be picked up by some people as not pleasant. Crazy millman
  14. You can do a Cantext between operations and add it at that point as a before of after a operation has finished or started. Hit the canned text in the dialog box then yiu have several options depending on your post then use the program stop as the control. Good Luck Crazy millman
  15. Well might think about a refrub or a used for the money and get a bigger machine with better speeds and feed capability. I would say think easy gentle cuts dont want to be in a hurry and not really care about having any more capabilty than that then ok but with the new taxes laws out there any machine purchase over a certain amount you can write of 60% of the machine frist year. I here people talk about the Haas mini mill and also people talk about protecks. Crazy Millman [ 09-16-2003, 09:05 PM: Message edited by: Crazy Millman ]
  16. Harryman Vericut says that the verifry program they have will handle up to 5 axis very well. i was looking at one but for $1000 and axis I was like no way. but fi you think you can warrant it might worth a look at. Crazy millman
  17. What is the paging memory set for on eacn computer. You will have one that might be bigger than the other and that might explain why it works on one and not the other. Crazy millman win98 right click on my computer then propetries then virtual memeory win2000 right click on my computer then propetries then advanced then performace options then change here you can adjust how much page memory you have for each computer i have mine at like 2200 mb when set low it make thing go slow and crash on this computer win xp if you have not put my computer on the screen which is ver yeasy to do then you go to control panel device manger and follow the same as win 2000 from there Good Luck let us know if that helps Crazy millman
  18. Well Chris I one who does not prepare for the future is one who does not have a future. It is always good to be known by people in the know thus I found this forum to be the best recourse I could ever need incase I do have that need. I have a another kid on the way will be here in December sometimes you got to weigh the better good and the lesser of 2 evils. I have health insurance at this point. I have eat my share of things in life and as it said before what doesn't kill makes you stronger. It is not always what you know but who you know sometimes that gives you the best advantage. I will take my teh and do some more RIF about life and things like that. Crazy Millman up up and away
  19. Nope all you Vb guys are the Man i understand everything you say but be dam?ed if i can figure out how ot apply it very well. Again this stuff gets copied and pasted into my big book. Crazy millman
  20. Nothing anybody did Jay for everyone on here is great and i like hearing what other people say but I an just that crazy person that does things in a crazy way is all. I met my woman who is my wife sight unseen and we moved into together. I then married her 5 months later. I got into begin a Machinist when I was 14 and knew it what was i wanted do to for the rest of my life. I didnt get any support from my parnets t odo this untill about 8 years ago when I started making more than the both of them together. I guess the biggest reson for the way I think is I was told i would never walk, talk, or be normal after a car accident in 91. They gave me a 1% chance to live it was alomost 18 months later before I was 90% of the person I was before the accident. That kinda of thing make you look at thing different I guess. Again nothing anyone did or said I could give a flying flip less I know the kinda of person I am and happy being just a sharer of knowledge and a humble learner all at the same time not than anyone else is or isn't that way. Crazy Millman
  21. Oh by the way I am a twin and we are night and day from each other up to you to figure out which is nigth and which is day. People who see us together do not even think we are brothers. Crazy Millman
  22. Nothing to say no meaning behind it just a crazy weird person is all thus the name. I am not going anywhere and I do my postings when I take brakes lunch or a long cruch time on programs. I am salary here and put in anywhere from 10 to 14 hour days with the occasional 27 hour shift. I only get paid for 8 so if I take a little time here and there not much anyone can say. All the owners know I am giving and getting advice on here. But Trev does have a good point. We all have soemthing we all can give no matter out amount of posting I have learned things about machining from people who have only swept floors.
