  1. We will have a booth. One of our Sales Managers will be there. Go by and say hey and check out what we are doing.
  2. Colin why is Verisurf not suited? We can handle a easy task like this with no problem. You need import your STL into Verisurf. I have covered this with a Tech Tip of our forum. Link: We give everyone who uses Mastercam 30 days in which to try out a lot of our features. Download Page With something like this you have described Stuart you import in the STL and that is now stored to our Database. We do not use Mastercam STL's we use our own method of handling them which is very fast. I have had some STLs with 2 million faces and handled them with no problem. Then you right right click on the Mesh and then Pick Slice. Then from here you have the options to slice it along the X,Y,Z axis or Along a curve. You have the option of using Multiple Slices with the Distance Between and the Number of Slices. You can then save those slices as Center Points, Center Spline, Points, Lines, Splines with a Certain number of control Point(Tip here more the better), Along Splines, and then surface. Once you have picked you options click slice and you not have everything on a level in Mastercam. Here is a couple screen shots of something I did to show you. If you need any information about our product please contact me and I will get it to you. Have a good weekend or what is left of it.
  3. Hey everyone a little bump here. We have a new web site: www.verisurf.com We also have a new forum: www.verisurf.com/forum Everyone is welcome to come over and check it out.
  4. Josh we offer Veriprobe for Verisurf. Email me and I will get someone in contact with you.
  5. Don did you have a specific file you were looking to do? Is it an ongoing part of your work? You can email me and I can get you some information if you would like.
  6. Bump. Guy We have some really great tools for dealing with STL's and non STL files. Might take a look you got any question please post them up. I am putting together an AVI to put up showing some of the things we can do.
  7. Well this might be a computer problem. Do you have power management on? Have you checked the power setting for the USB roots in the device manager? Seems a new security patch or some update from Microsoft is shutting down the USB ports on some computers. Need to check the power settings for the computer. You then need to go a step further and then check in the device manager for the Universal Serial Bus Controllers. The look for the USB root Hub in this tree. Go to each one of them right click properties. Then go to power management and uncheck the allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. HTH
  8. Bill you need to have them look at a Portable CMM Arm and Verisurf. You can reverse that stuff in probably 1/10 of the time not tie up a machine and have something that will work with Mastercam with no problem. We can have someone get you some information if you would like to pass on.
  9. Tim I took care of it. I had him download the latest from the web site was an STL of a Maple leaf. Tim this his problem involved deal code problems so I am thinking they are different to CNC pro's. CNC pro this is part of our Reverse Package and if you did not buy it then you are limited to the full features. Have you used up your 30 day codes? Trevor is spot on about needing to create a chain network. However the file he had a was a free form type of STL and a chain network would have been a major task. We have a new tool called Auto Surface that created machinable surfaces in about 3 minutes. It turned out very nice and I emailed it to him to show the power and simplicity of it. CNC pro email Tim or myself and we will see if we can help you out. Have a good one.
  10. If you have a solid and will parting the ring right in Half should be very easy. You will need 3 copies of the solid. 2 Solids one for each half of the solid and one solid just to keep so you know what you are making. Make your solid solids of the halves. Then use bounding box to make a center point. That becomes your split line. Now put the one copy of the right to Solid Boolean remove from the bottom half and then do the same for the 2nd solid for the top half. Now you have an upper and lower mold cavities. HTH
  11. What I do when I see this problem is make a legend to a known size say 3" or 6". Then when I print I can double check what I get. If it is not correct adjust the percentage till it is. Most problems are the drivers for the printer and have nothing to do with Mastercam. HTH
  12. Yes we have a way to check do it in our V9 version. You would need to open the probe have it collect the point then report it back or compare it to something as a means of checking what you did. That is all any probe does is check the point you tell it and then report back the captured point and depending on the Macro or how it is done tell you what that difference is. I would look in your book for the manunal programming of the probe. Then from there you could build your Macro statements. A X or Y axis single hit at a known point then another along the same axis would give you 2 points where you could then measure that to see what the angle is and tell you the draft. HTH
  13. Are you using the Add-on or does your Company uses Verisurf? You can call into the office and ask for support I am here all day and would be glad to try to assist you to get this worked out. 1-888-713-7201 I am at ext 36. 1-714-970-1683
  14. We have the pierce chook with our V9 Verisurf install. I do not know if it will work with just V9 or not. [ 12-09-2008, 04:50 PM: Message edited by: Ron Branch @ Verisurf ]
  15. TheePres In Mastercam you can project that point to the surface using the project and the Normal. On the Xform/project pick surfaces as shown in this picture: Now the point you created with hole axis can be projected to the 3d surface that it intersects normal to that surface. Now if you want it to be projected along the vector of the hole that is a different approach. The above is using the surface normal as the projecting method. This way uses the Normal of the Vector created by the Hole Axis Chook. You would need to create a C-plane using the vector created by the Hole Axis Chook. You then would go into your C-plane menu and pick Planes by Normal. Now you have created a C-Plane normal to that Vector. In the Xform project you would pick by View this time.(Note: Need to make sure your Gview is the same as your C-plane) Use the surface Method for the selection as shown in the picture. Now you have created a pierce point through the hole axis vector to the 3d surface. We do have a free Chook that will do this just not updated for X yet. We hope to have it out in the next update. I will keep you updated. HTH
  16. Yes Hole axis. What we do is give the user the ability to create a circle. You can then create a center point for that circle as well as a vector line above and below the hole in question. Also the hole axis add-on is free and does all of what I just described with one mouse click. This add-on also has Notepad which allows you to save notes with the Mastercam file itself. In older versions you have to create notes for the files as drafting and save on a level. with notepad you can create all the note you want and it is saved without having to save that information as drafting on a level and is accessible at anytime. Verisurf X3 Downloads. Verisurf X2MR2 Downloads. You did not say what version so here are links to 2 downloads versions we have. Go to the bottom of the page and you will see the add-on. Also you have 30 days of access to other tools we have like Reverse, MBD, and others things. If I can be of any assistance just email me. Have a good day.
  17. Fred yes it works with X3 if you follow the link the previous response you will find what you need. HTH
  18. We have an X3 download Here. Look at the bottom of the page. It works with the Latest MU release as well. You can Demo the whole thing for 30 days. We have slice and project curves onto mesh. We also have some very powerful smoothing tools for the STL and filter options. People who do a lot of reverse engineering like how these tools help them simply tasks. We also have a new Web Page for our Mastercam Add-Ons. Add-Ons for Mastercam. HTH
  19. Hole axis was tested and seem to working like it did. If you run into any problems just shoot me or Ernie an email. MU1 installed with no problems here.
  20. Here is the Direct Link it is at the bottom: Verisurf X3 Downloads I am testing this in X3MU1 and so far no problems. If you see anything with hole axis let me know. HTH
  21. Good to see you back. Still crazy just little more hats to wear is all. I work here 2 days a week and work 3 days a week at my other job. Good to see you back.
  22. Rick, I came over here last month Part time 2 days a week. Still working at my other job, just there 3 days a week and over here 2 days a week. I will tell the area rep to contact you guys so you have an idea encase it becomes something that can be done down the road. Tim is great to work with. Being in the industry for a while there are a lot of legacy files that are UG. The big companies take forever to get you a translation and having the tools at your company to see files without having to jump through hoops is huge.
