  1. Guys our X4 add-on has a free tool that will do this. Once it is loaded go to Verisurf Surface Points/Dynmaic Surface Point Make sure all your surface normals are correct. Once the dialog box comes up click on the Cad and make sure you have Vector checked to the length you want and done. Very quick and you can put it any where you want. Now lets say you want to place points along the edge of a part but offset it. We have a free tool for that as well. Same place Verisurf Surface Points/Curve to Points and Vectors Now pick the chain on the surface you want. Then in the dialog box pick your option for what you are after. Very powerful and quick tools for doing some vector and point creation. I will work on a Video showing the power of these tools when I get a chance. HTH
  2. He is around just real busy and I had some people asking about it and wanted to let eveyone know we had it out and ready. [ 06-15-2009, 03:11 PM: Message edited by: Ron Branch @ Verisurf ]
  3. Hello Everyone, To get Verisurf's Hole Axis please go to here: www.verisurf.com/mastercam There is a download here button middle right of the screen. The download screen will come up and it is called Verisurf_Add-ons_for_MastercamX4.exe Some things for people using this Add-on. There is the Pierce, Hole Axis, Notes, PNG Screen Shot, and Hidden Line. Some new things for people using this Add-on. Verisurf Surface Grid, Dynamic Surface Point, Curve to Points and Vectors, Verisurf Planes and Verisurf WCS. Some of these new tools might be very helpful in the shop environment as well as aid in programming. Any questions or comments please shoot them our way. As always these tools are free so please pass on to anyone you think might benefit from them. Thanks to Ernie for providing these free tools.
  4. For anyone looking here is a direct link: http://www.verisurf.com/mastercam/downloads.html HTH
  5. If you go to our web site we have the drivers for just about everyone. Email me and I will be glad to give you the user name and password. HTH
  6. That was part of our free package. When we added MBD capabilities to our software in the operations manager it became part of our bought package. We still have the fonts, but what we offered for free in V9 we now have as part of a package in X.
  7. We have not digitized it in it shows up when ever you use the device inside our software. What are you trying to do???
  8. If you look on our web site it tells you what we are and the products we offer. We have the ability to make programs for many types of CMM machines. We work directly inside of Mastercam. The great things is most people can make their CNC program and their CMM program from the same base model without worry of losing something.
  9. What software are you planning on using for the reversing? We have an add-on that works directly inside of Mastercam that you can use for free for 30 days. If you contact Mitutoyo they will provide you with training on that machine. You might try your local place that sells probing tips they might know of someone that can help you get trained. HTH
  10. That was just copied and added to the big book of information. Thank you for sharing that I appreciate that.
  11. Clarence buffers have eluded me for years so the fact that you did it that quick is very impressive for me. Would you mind sharing your final results so myself and others might see what you did since it has been a great source of frustration for so long?? Thanks for anything else you are willing to share.
  12. Can you use a standard offset set to the transition point. Then from there have a macro do the math needed to take that offset and then update the current offset to the correct position? It would be one heck of a macro, but I think with a little bit of thought you could capture what you need in one place store it over in the macros, then do the math needed based off the setting you give it then have it change what ever you wanted on the machine. Just something to think about.
  13. When using Verisurf for things we support we sometimes will place a point on the screen. I think white is the color we use. If you just have the add-on for Mastercam I do not see where it would be placing a point. If you see this again do a screen statistics and see if something comes up. If you can send me the file when you see it then I might be able to help you figure out what is going on.
  14. Here is a really good article about our company and things we are doing in the industry. Check it out. Linky: quote: Technology is changing the face of aerospace manufacturing and quality assurance. No place is that change more welcome and dramatic than at Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. in Hawthorne, California. quote: He continued, “I guess the bottom line for our department is that it used to take us sixteen hours to do an inspection on a large assembly, eight hours inspecting and another eight on the report. Now we can do the same job in six hours or less.” Enjoy. Yes I am proud of the place I work at. [ 04-23-2009, 09:53 AM: Message edited by: Ron Branch @ Verisurf ]
  15. File save some select all Geometry then save. It will save only the geometry and not the toolpaths. HTH
  16. I think I know what the problem is. Email me and I will send you a patch that should fix it. Thanks for letting us know what was going on.
  17. Yeah that looks just like what I was looking for. Thanks for the link.
  18. I am looking for some help. I have got our posting for the probing working in V9 version of Verisurf for the HAAS. Now the problem I have is the limited ability of the HAAS to give me that DATA back so I can then use it. I have the following line after we do the probing of the surface. code: DPRNT[#5061[24] #5062[24] #5063[24]] So once it takes the 2nd hit it then outputs this data. I called Tech support and they said the only way to capture this DATA is through the RS232. I would like to be able to send it to the USB or even the hard drive. So here comes my question do any of you know how to do this? If so how? I do not have a machine to try it out on. I have thought about another way where I could send it to the machine and once it is done then save this to a NC file, but not an ideal way to do what I am after.
  19. Yeah can we put them Back Please. We use this to control the way we out put Data for Verisurf. From here Customers can set a default location for the Reports that we make. Now it just opens to Data and then they have to save it to their NETWORK location. The old way you could set your default location here and it saved file and open files just like every other file. I will also throw this request in the Beta forum and in an Email. Thanks for the response.
  20. Jim Yes that is what I am looking for. It is not there for X. [ 03-05-2009, 06:41 PM: Message edited by: Ron Branch @ Verisurf ]
  21. I seen it done years ago, but it was on a 20,000 rpm lathe with Air bearings and a solid diamond. HTH
  22. Stuart thanks for taking the time to post up your results. That was some very nice work you guys are doing there. If you guys do not mind sending us a picture when you are done that would be cool.
  23. Superman it was not a slam on Colin it was a correction since we have made some major improvements in our software. Others had suggested it before I even chimed in. Colin was talking about a product and I just chimed in to show the capabilities of our product. Nothing was meant to be mean or negative towards Colin. I however did want to clear up any misconceptions about the capabilities of our software at the same time offering some sound advice to the original person that started this topic. quote: I also think suggesting other alternatives to the small / medium shops or to someone doing a possible home project is wise, ( something easy to learn, simple to use, and quite often ends up being the best value for money for the amount of times it would be used ) What part about free for 30 days was not offering that help??? Good day mate.
