  1. If it were a product file then I would look to that, but since it is a part file I am not sure where to look. I would recommend like Pete you contact Moldplus and maybe do a sample file since the part is probably ITAR and can not be sent to them so they can track it down. Sorry I can not be of more assistance. HTH
  2. Do you have the Use Mastercam xform to translate the solid checked in the ReadV5 settings for Moldplus? We use it all the time and do not see the problems you are seeing. Also do you have Load assembly parts in separate level checked? Do you have Load duplicate parts in the same level checked? What is the value for First level to use for separate parts loading? On the Common Settings do you have Load all in main level checked? Also are you using this with Verisurf? Do you have the FTA/GDT for Verisurf MDB checked if you are? Do you have your entity filter set-up for colors and Levels?
  3. We are a program that loads inside of the Mastercam environment. Here is a Video where you can look at we did. Here we are Reversing a combustion chamber. Video Download: File is about 29mb so it might take a little while to download. Here it is on You Tube must watch in HD. [ 09-15-2009, 01:10 PM: Message edited by: Ron Branch ]
  4. It is not me it is all thanks to Ernie the owner of Verisurf for providing these free tools for Mastercam users.
  5. Well what you need to do in the note box is click on properties and then on the font change it to Verisurf MBD or Verisurf GD&T. This will then load those symbols into the symbols in the note dialog box. Now you just pick them like you would any symbol and you are good to go. Here is the link:Download Unzip and put in your fonts folder inside of the windows directory. Any problems or questions please let me know. Here is what you will see with Verisurf GD&T: Here is what you will see with Verisurf MBD: Here is how to access them through a program like Excel:
  6. What would you like to know about it? We have a autosurface tool that can take meshes(STL) and make them into surfaces right inside of the Mastercam environment. Send me a file and I will be glad to do a small file for you.
  7. What kind of symbols? We have some GD&T fonts that are free that are true type fonts. If you are interested please email me and I will send them to you. HTH
  8. What is the toolpath you are using for your 1st operation? If you notice that post is using operations as limit to posting out these commands then you might have the wrong operation type and that is what is limiting it from outputting the code you are looking for. Just a thought. HTH
  9. No Jay I am talking about the new free tools with the Verisurf Add-on. These 3 new point tools are very cool. You access them from the top of the screen: Then each one does a specific function. The grid it is just like it sounds it will make a grid of points and vectors based of surface U and V or you can use an X and Y value. If you use the X and Y value then it comes from the active C-plane. If you use the U and V method then it is not C-plane dependent. Also only use Cad for the points the other is for use in the Verisurf Software only. The dynamic surface point will allow you to create a point dynamically on a surface or a solid without having to pick the individual faces like Mastercam does. You also have the ability to make a vector if you like. Again only use the Cad the other ways are for Verisurf Software only. The last is the curve to Points/Vectors and this one has a ton of options. You can decide to use a chord height, max distance or max number of points along the chain. You can decide to use Vectors. You can decide of the Vector direction to be normal, side or along. You also have the ability to offset it from the surface, end or end the extension. Again as in the other two only use CAD the points and Scan are for the Verisurf Software only. Any questions or comments just email me or post them up and be glad to help out.
  10. Can I have one of our regional sales managers contact you about Verisurf and what we might be able to do for you. If interested please email me at my company email and I will have someone contact you. Thanks.
  11. It is some tools Ernie the owner of Verisurf has made that are free to Mastercam users. We have the note pad, Hole Axis, and other free goodies that are very cool. I have used Hole axis for years and it allows people to pick a cylindrical surface on a solid or surface and make a center point, Center line and circle is wanted. You can decide when you install it what features you want to install. Download it and check it out. If you have any specific question feel free to email me or post them up and I or someone else will do their best to answer them. HTH
  12. Did someone talk about the Verisurf free add-on to Mastercam. Here is a link: Mastercam Add-Ons Download HTH
  13. From what I understand these are the better methods than going down the VB road. HTH
  14. Thanks for the Replies. I am working on a dual boot system where I can run the XP for testing our XP products and then use the Windows 7 boot up for the testing in that environment. We can not control what customers are using and do our best to provide the best support we can.
  15. Working my other job today. I have had no problems with crashing make sure there is only solids in that file nothing else is all I can say that could be causing your problems. Also might use the nohist chook to make sure the solid tress is not giving you problems. HTH
  16. Has anyone tested the V9 product in the Windows 7 environment yet? I see they have a Virtual Windows XP program, but it does not say anything about pre XP programs. I am thinking since V9 works in XP this might be the tool that will allow V9 to work in Windows 7. Yes I know X4 is out, but we have customers we are looking to support when Windows 7 comes out that still might be using V9 and seeing if anyone has tried or tested it out. Thanks for any comments or suggestions.
  17. Yes please check us out. I will ask this question once you check your part using whatever how will you be able to quickly be able to tell if the part is right or wrong? With Verisurf we can write the probing routine for your machine with a V9 product. Not in our X product yet. So you have all the points sent back from the machine now you need to know something about them. Using our software you can then bring the points back into the software. Then you can have an idea where you are on any 3d surface. Here is a screen shot from something we did this on at my other job. The 1st screen shot shows the information brought in from our CMM, but this could be a machine tool probing program no problem: Here I changed the acceptable tolerance of .01 to .005 so you can see how our software can show you the problem areas with the probe radius represented by the spheres: Then here is the same analysis done with a different setting to show text with shading on: Here is the same screen shot with shading off. You can see again the colors show the problem with the text. Here is a video showing our V9 probing product for CMM's or for machine tools. Linky: Any questions please email [email protected] and one of our regional sales mangers will be glad to get back to you. John thanks for the plug.
  18. Harold contact us. We have a way to validate files. Also if you are doing Boeing parts they will give you a free IGES check utility. Please feel free to call me at the office 1-888-713-7201 ans we can go over your needs in detail. Also here is link to our forum where I go into some detail about PAS which will come up at some point as well. You will need to register. Linky:
  19. Yeah I know this software that would allow you to collect those points and then do an analysis of those points back to the surface model and give them a screen shot showing the deviations at each point to what ever tolerance you want as well as give them a complete detail report showing all of that is a matter of minutes. Email me if you need some help giving source something back.
  20. Yeah I remember that. Here is a direct Linky:
  21. Harold no we do not over write or change the Mastercam mesh. If you do not check the install reverse when doing the install of the add-on then you should not see STL grey out once Verisurf add-on is installed. Ted I will have to check and see what is going on. There are certain functions if reverse is installed you will need codes for, but I understand it to be that is not one of them. I will let you know. HTH
  22. Harold well that is not really the case. We just handle STL files differently than Mastercam does. Here is what I put on our Forum. With the introduction of our Add-on for Mastercam X you will find that you can not bring STL's into Mastercam if you are using Mastercam for programming. Anyone who uses Verisurf only, this is something you are familiar with in V9 where you imported STL's. In version X when using Verisurf Add-ons for Mastercam, STL's are now brought in differently. This will show you how to import them into Mastercam STL entity. You will need to go to the reverse tab in the operations manager. In the top right corner is the Open or Import data Cloud button(1st Picture). This can bring in 4 different types of data(2nd Picture). Now if you want an STL to be inside of the Mastercam you need to export to CAD. To do this you need to right click on the STL in the Reverse operations Manager. You will then click on the STL mesh to export it to CAD.(3rd Picture) Now you have a STL that will work inside of Mastercam if you have a need for it. Yes we realize this is not the direct bring it from Mastercam, but with all the free tools we give you with this free add-on we hope this would not be a problem and the added step would not prevent people from using these helpful tools. HTH
